The grounds at Kahana Sunset were incredible; bright foliage, beautiful pool, cool little bay with sea life, and tropical fruit from the trees! We would absolutely book at Kahana Sunset again, but not in unit E10.
We had originally booked an updated condo that was oceanfront (Building F), due to sea wall issues, we were moved back a row to E10. While we received a refund for the difference, we would have preferred to pay more and stayed in an updated unit; we understood the issues with the sea wall, but were not clear on what a downgrade the actual unit would be. From the moment we entered E10 it felt damp, dated, and dark. I hope the carpet and sofas were damp due to extra Covid cleaning, but it never really dried. Additionally, the cabinets were sticky, dishwasher was broken, and the bathrooms and guest bedroom felt very dark and dated. Lastly, and I hate being too critical, but the sleeping pillows were horrible, E10 is the proud new owners of Serta pillows we had to purchase on the island and leave behind. The unit could use a major overhaul.
