Property is amazing. Great location and amazing neighborhood. While convenient to everything, it is outside of the crazy business of the kona tourist area. Lots of snacks upon arrival with well equipped kitchen. Great beds to sleep on and a television in all rooms. Very easy to communicate with the owner as well. Would not hesitate to stay here again Thank you Charlotte for a great experience.
Loved the place!!! I could live there. Lots of kitchen ware, beach chairs, towels. You name it she had it. Did have a problem with beach umbrella. Called Charlotte & she brought 2 new beach umbrella within an hour. The View was beautiful & peaceful. I would definitely rent again!!
Beautiful little apartment, well maintained and the hostess did a great job of making us feel welcome. There were snacks and music playing as we came in. Very comfortable beds and over all experience. My son said he would love to live there year around!!!
We had a fantastic stay at this charming apartment! The location was perfect for exploring the town and the apartment itself was clean and homely. Itâs part of what I believe to be 4 apartments. We didnât encounter any issues with others living there or surrounding homes. Make note that if you are planning on visiting in the warmer months that with the windows being open you will be hearing the Kokee frogs throughout the night and the roosters early in the morning. Only problem was a WiFi problem and it was easily resolved the following morning. But all in all weâd absolutely recommend her place to anyone visiting Kona.
We really enjoyed the views from the Lanai and the comfortable accommodations. The beds were soft and comfortable. The kitchen was great and it was nice to be able to cook a few meals. We also used the beach chairs and beach toys that were provided which was a great perk.
When we arrived at the property, it was pouring rain. Every window and sliding door was wide open with all fans on high speed. Aside from the security issues of walking into an unsecured residence, there was a very poignant chemical smell (scent machine and mold combo) throughout the apartment. We were there 15 minutes and all immediately got headaches. The smell would not disipate. We contacted the host and she suggested we open the windows. Again, every window was open before we ever arrived. It was concerning that she was unaware of this. We shared our concerns about the safety of the property and she stopped communicating. Rather than continuing to get sick, we put our safety first and left within 20 min of our arrival. We immediately informed the host of this. As it was late in the evening, we had no where to stay. As a result, we had to rebook airfare and shorten our vacation. The host denies any safety issue and refuses to refund anything. She even continues to insist on charging the cleaning fee when the property was never used. We stayed at two other properites on the island and had no issues whatsoever. This property does not represent what the island has to offer, AVOID IT!! We had a great vacation up till this point and are disappointed in this host & property.
Host/managers were quick to respond and fix some minor issues that cropped up at the start of our 10 day stay. House is well-appointed and we made use of washer/dryer. I actually looked forward to hearing the frogs each night, and the roosters crowing in the morning. The covered deck was really nice since we had a lot of rain. Plenty of towels. Full size fridge. Large bed is very comfy and soft.
The property was very nice, the host was amazing and friendly. She called me when we had issues with the internet and worked to resolve it. We had a memorable stay.
Soft bed. 2nd floor house. A lot of wild chickens. 15 min drove from everywhere. Airport. Walmart, Costco. Washer and dryer was big. Overall great stay.
IT WAS AN AWESOME WEEKEND. WEATHER WAS PERFECT. GOLF AT WAIKALOA VILLAGE & HUALALAI WAS WELL WORTH THE TRIP. THE VRBO PLACE WAS PERFECT, CLEAN & NO HASSLE. BESIDES THE SMOKE ALARM BLARING FROM THE INSIDE WHEN WE GOT THERE, IT WAS A GREAT STAY. THE BEDS & LIVINGROOM COUCH WERE COMFORTABLE. NEIGHBORHOOD WAS QUIET. I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN.
Love led being up in the hills and felt like a local. Was dark finding the place up at night! Nature sounds were great but glad we brought ear plugs. A lovely stay.
Super clean. Very friendly and accommodating host. We enjoyed the sounds of Hawaiian nature lullabies and alarm clock (frogs and chickens). Convenient to many Kona activities, the airport, and Costco!
The apartment is beautifully decorated and has everything we needed. It was very relaxing. I love the lanai and it was super clean. I recommend it. The downsides of staying there included long drive to South Kona beaches, loud coqui frogs at night, roosters crowing at 3 am, and bed too soft. (I was warned about the roosters from a previous review). It was cool enough to keep the bedroom window closed, which helped with the noise. Pack your sleeping pills if you are a light sleeper! The kitchen had everything. We enjoyed staying up the hill for a change and liked the neighborhood. It is a good value for the price.
We loved our stay here! The space was clean and had everything we could have needed. The hosts have thought of everything with a well stocked kitchen, soft towels, beach gear, towels and more. We loved drinking coffee on the big deck. Other reviews had us a little concerned about being woken up by roosters, but we closed the windows at night and turned on sound machines (one they provided and one we brought) and it wasnât a problem at all. Would definitely stay here again!
This property was great. It was just what we needed as a family traveling with a little one ( 20 Months). The place was well equipped with all things cooking, to go containers, and just about every appliance one might need for cooking their own meals. It was great to have this place as a home base as we ventured out for the day. When we returned most evenings we would catch the beautiful sunset from the lanai. Also, a nice place to enjoy breakfast in the morning. The master bedroom had a very comfortable bed and it was pleasant to crack the window and fall asleep to the sounds of tree frogs and other nocturnal creatures. The roosters are a little noisy early in the morning, but I'm sure that's the case across the isalnd, they're everywhere. The beach gear setup was very convenient. The place is well stocked with sand castle supplies, boogie boards, umbrellas, beach chairs. The snorkel gear was pretty worn, so maybe thnk about renting some if you plan to snorkel. All in all, it was a very inviting home for our stay in Hawaii!
I was looking for a central place to stay with diving in mind. View was fantastic and it is below 2000 feet.So very clean and having shampoo and conditioner was so helpful. Yes, there are chickens and dueling feral roosters that start crowing about 3am, close the windows worked well for us, nice and cool by then. Will be back if available again! So
We rented this lovely upper floor 2-bed/1-bath to attend a celebration of life in Kaloko. It was in a wonderful location in a quiet neighborhood. I would give it 5 stars, except there are Coqui frogs that make noise for part of the night, then the roosters start in the early morning. It was very clean, the bed was incredibly soft & comfortable, and they provided snacks! The kitchen was well provisioned. The deck is very nice to hang out on.
Property was large and well-laid out. Lanai was particularly nice, with long-distance ocean views. No A/C, but with windows open breezes kept temperature ok. Communication with host was great.
The one problem was noise. There are many feral chickens all around the neighborhood, and they start loudly crowing well before sunrise, waking us all up at 3:30 am. Because the chickens do not belong to anybody, there is nobody who can remove them or remedy the situation.
Nice beach equipment, plenty of towels, overall clean. The chicken started crowing at 3 a.m the first night and the next night, it began crowing at 6 AM.
