An emerging budget stay in Kamloops

This is a solid budget friendly stay and I could see the work the Prestige team is putting in to lift the property. However, some basic housekeeping issues reduced the quality of the stay. The room had not been vacuumed under the beds. There was left over popcorn crushed at the edge of one of the beds clearly visible on checkin. I reported this to the front desk but it was not addressed even when the room was made up the following day. The large bottle toiletries in the shower are only environmentally responsible if they can be used. Our shower gel was empty during my shower and again was not filled during the daily service. We then had to use the little soap bars for a late shower that night. Still a lot of work to do to get the property up to the Prestige standard but it has potential. Beds were comfy and it was quiet. Breakfast is basic and the eating area is cramped. It could do with a bit more variety and some different tables to better fit the space.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room size was good and fairly clean. However, there were pervasive smells (smoking) that came into the room, and the room was very old and tired. One remote didn't work, and there was no dish soap.

This hotel was great. We slept very well and the gentleman at reception was very helpful and friendly. The location was great, there was a restaurant on site and we were able to relax and unwind for a night.
