Hotel was nice for an old building. It was clean but could used some updates. Parking is $25/day and not covered or in a safe area. The bartender was rude when we walked in 15 min before they were open. All in all not a bad stay.

The breakfast was good. Check-in was confusing. We were told we couldn’t come in without a key card but we needed to check-in before getting a key card. ??? The bathroom was the size and condition of a phone booth.

We booked our stay at Embassy Suites in Kansas City (220 w 43rd at Missouri) based on the photos and the reputation of the brand, but our experience was deeply disappointing. The pictures online are completely misleading. First, the pool was rundown—definitely not what’s advertised. Our room was in poor condition: wallpaper peeling off the walls, stain carpets, and the bathtub was rusted from a constant water drip that looked like it had been ignored for a long time. As parents, we chose this place in part because of the pool and breakfast amenities, but they ran out of milk and juice at 7:15AM, which meant no cereal for the kids. There were no pancakes or waffles either. We ended up leaving the hotel to find breakfast elsewhere, which was frustrating and inconvenient. My in-laws were traveling with us and their room had even more problems. Their sink and tub weren’t draining. They had to be moved to another room, and the staff literally said, “Hopefully this room works for you?”—not the kind of confidence you want when you’re paying for a comfortable stay. While I feel bad for the staff, who did their best to keep things clean, it’s clear they’re limited by the condition of the hotel. It’s unfortunate when a well-known brand like Embassy Suites allows its properties to deteriorate like this. We feel misled, disappointed, and a bit naive for trusting the brand without digging deeper. Save your money and find somewhere that actually delivers on its promises.

This hotel has seen better days. We booked it because after a rainy weekend and a canceled flight we were after a hot tub specifically in a part of the city we hadn’t had a chance to visit to make the most of our unexpected extra night. The hotel is incredibly run down, pool is absolute chaos, and there’s nothing hot about the hot tub. Really wishing we had picked somewhere else. Price was atrocious in comparison to hotels if much higher quality. Don’t stay here

Such a nice stay. I e did have to pay for parking- which I missed when booking. Breakfast is typical hotel buffet. They do have made to order omelettes but we went down just before it closed and didn’t bother with it. Hot tub was nice but pool was cold. Gym was super clean and well equipped. Rooms were nice but there was construction next door outside our room and they started at 7 am. There are some restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance. Neighborhood felt safe.

Great location. The hotel is dated and not clean - hair in the bathrooms, stained carpet, etc. they skip normal helpful things like laundry bags, trash bags, ice bucket bags (all the bags apparently). Communal restrooms out of order, no pool towels. We were still okay staying the night but hoped for better.

Great Stay!

My reservation was at a great price, easy check in, beautiful building-well cared for, amazing room, great buffet breakfast, secured parking...overall great stay. Due to business trip and early, I forgot my extra work shirt hanging in the closet. When I called after my event I was informed I had to go on line to have it delivered to me and pay a fee-this is ridicules and my office is a couple of miles away from the hotel.

The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was not cleaned. The manager had a poor response to remedy it, which he never really resolve. The carpets were dirty. Worst embassy suites I’ve ever stayed at.

Just what we needed

Our hotel was just fine what we needed perfect vacations and good service quiet. I felt like the cost of appropriate. Would be nice to have them upgrade in the breakfast could’ve been a little better. Also, the parking garage was a little bit sketchy, but the outside parking was fine.

Employees were helpful and pleasant to deal with. Hotels drains are slow so expect water to pool in your shower/sink. Pool was nice though there was limited seating. They also ran out of towels but it was a holiday weekend so maybe not normal traffic for them. Lastly the elevator situation was pretty terrible. There was almost always a 5/10 min wait. And on checkout day we waited 20 minutes before an elevator came that was able to take us. There are stairs available however we had our suitcases with us and were in high heels so that didn’t feel like a safe or pleasant option. Not staffs fault! Something the higher ups should think on though.

Breakfast buffet was very messy. Parking was awful and had to wait 15 to 20 minutes for an elevator. We had a double suite the beds were very small. The pull out bed was bigger the actual beds.

Hidden fees and disappointment

The only issue we had was not knowing the pool and sauna was out of commission. Also having to pay for parking. This should be know before we show up to check in. Other than that our stay was okay.
