The cabin was very easy to get to, and yet it felt like you were in the middle of nowhere. The view was excellent. The accommodations were top-notch. I recommend this place to anyone.
The view at this home is incredible. Bring your binoculars! The home is very large with multiple floor spaces and outdoor areas. The decor is very stylish and well maintained. Highly recommend this property!
Spectacular view, gorgeous home, exactly as represented on the site. Quick getaway with friends for two nights. We spent most of our time on the deck enjoying the view. Spacious house, updated bathrooms& kitchen. Good WiFi. We had a few questions & mgt company was very responsive! I would definitely stay there again!
The house was immaculate, kudos to cleaning crew. Beautiful home, plenty of rooms, views from the back deck were amazing. Would definitely recommend this place for vacation.
The property was perfect for our family. It was well equipped with all the kitchen necessities. plenty of space, bedrooms, and bathrooms to accommodate 7 adults and a 1 yr old. Great location for seeing sites.
The rental description & photos accurately matched the home. Our group of 5 used all 4 bedrooms comfortable mattresses and furniture. We loved lazy mornings on the deck with beautiful mtn views. Afternoons were an easy 10 minute drive to enjoy the theatre festival in Shepherdstown. Several deer sighting (be cautious driving).
Everything was as listed and nicely accommodated our family. The issues with the house were communicated and will be corrected by our requests. Great view and in a beautiful wooded area.
Nice place, great response from host, but be aware of possible noise
Overall, the house was exactly as described which was the perfect set up for us- 2 families - a total of 4 adults and 3 kids. There are many pros and some cons to this house, that I feel compelled to write about. The pros include -the house was exactly as described and pretty well appointed. The furniture was a little run down, but the beds and couches were comfortable. The main floor had enough room to spread out (although the pictures make the house seem more spacious than it is). The basement had a foosball table that was a big hit. For some reason the basement was about 10 degrees colder than the rest of the house, we could not find a separate thermostat to warm it up. Over the weekend we had a few issues where I had to text the host. My questions were almost immediately responded to which was great! The con that I wanted to warn people about is that there is a gun range across the street. There is information on the website about it, and it is totally my fault that I missed it. The website says you may hear "distant gunshots", but it is right across the street and the gunfire sounds like it's next door. On Friday we got there at 3ish and it was constant gunfire until dusk and Saturday it started at 6 am. My husband says he did not hear it Saturday morning with his earplugs in. If you decide you are ok with the shooting range, be sure to bring earplugs.
Enjoyed this beautiful property. Spectacular view of Antietam Battlefield. Great spot for Civil War enthusiasts who will enjoy this high lookout for the Union perspective. Was great for our small family reunion. Nice gathering spaces and several away spots for individual privacy.
As have other visitors before us, we loved the view. The layout of the house worked well for us, too, as did its proximity to interesting historical sites. The only problem was that the house was very cold when we arrived, and we had trouble getting it to warm up to an acceptable level (68-70 F). We finally figured it out on our second day after much fiddling with the thermostat. A guide to the system would be helpful for anyone staying in cold or hot weather.
Cabin is pretty much everything the pictures make it out to be. Private, wooded backyard with an outdoor area, and great views of Antietam from both inside and outside the cabin.
This property has a beautiful, unobstructed view of Antietam. We were an extended family group of 8. The house was very well laid out for an adults and kids with two living spaces. The house was updated, very clean and nicely decorated. It was well stocked in most areas.
The only problem was there were no extra towels (only 1 per person) and no extra blankets. The beds only had a light weight comforter and it was cold at night.
We had a great time at this lovely cabin. We found it easily and it was in a great location to explore Shepherdstown and Harper's Ferry. The rooms are comfortable and the view spectacular!
We enjoyed the property, which was incredibly clean and stocked with things like local coffee beans, bath/shower supplies, cookware, and utensils. Our group enjoyed the amazing view of the Antietam battlefield. Sunsets were a real treat. Would love to stay here again.
We used the house for a retreat for myself and three adult sons. The house was clean, well stocked, and the host was very accessible and helpful. I've rented many homes and cabins over the years, and this was definitely the best experience I've had.
Planned a visit to Shepherdstown, Antietam and Harpers Ferry with my family and friends. This was an excellent central location for all our activities. The house was clean and comfortable with plenty of room to retreat if you needed to step away. My 2 sons enjoyed the downstairs game room and having their bedroom/bathroom in their space while the adults congregated in the kitchen and on the deck. The evening sunsets were beautiful. Highly recommend!
