Very Scottish decorâ for some reason.
Staff were over worked and doing multiple jobs as best as they could and as quickly as they good. Tending bar, taking orders, waiting on tables - just one person! They really struggled at breakfast with a coach party all coming down to eat at the same time and only two waitresses and one chef to handle everything. I could see how frustrated the staff and the customers were getting with the whole situation. The room was clean and tidy with good tea and coffee amenities. TV was working well. Bathroom looked recently refurbished. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. I really liked their âfree drink instead of housekeepingâ option, which I absolutely decided to go for. Hotel is conveniently located to train station and a short walk into Kendal town centre.
The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and professional. The bedroom was well clean and tidy, great shower.
Breakfast was outstanding, I was full all day.
The hotel is situated on a busy corner. Although you can park the car there to L unload & load luggage, the car park (cricket ground) was a good 5minute walk away, not âjust across the roadâ as explained.
Room was clean but cramped we could have done with a larger floor space. Had we realised twin bedded rooms were smaller than double (the double opposite us was BIG), we would have gone double.
Shower - we just couldnât use at all as the water was boiling hot with no regulo. Staff admitted that water temp, âit is a nightmareâ and we were offered a chance to move but we were almost ready to leave.
Friendly staff, nice bar and the food looked good.
We are not complaining - itâs all part of the adventure for us but may be a little too below standards for some.
