Hotel staff wasnt very friendly, wanted to charge us patking for some friends coming to visit us. We had a wedding planeed and needed to gather the bridal party for information, staff said we needed to pay $15 for each vehicel. There was plenty of parking available , only 2 vehicles carpooled as not to cover expensive rate for just parking .

Small but Clean and Comfortable

The little cottages were tiny but clean and had everything needed to be comfortable. Right on the water with lots of outdoor chilling areas. Kayak rental for free on property. There are a few areas to swim. Restaurants in walking distance.

Private beach with swimming and fishing. 3 piers to fish from. Free kayaks available we wish we would have taken advantage of that. My 5 year old nephew literally stayed in the crystal clear water till just after 9 pm playing. A manatee swam probably 25 feet from him while he played at one point. The a/c was cold. Shower didn’t have a ton of pressure but that seems to be a norm at hotels and motels for us lately. Bed was comfy for the most part. I didn't wake up hurting so that’s good. Staff were friendly. People at the beach we encountered were very friendly. They are cute little duplex style motel stays. If we had anyone in the room next to us we never heard them. Each room has parking at their door best I could tell. I would stay again. If you are snooty or expecting fancy or resort style this probably isn’t for you. This is more of a laid back casual stay for someone who doesn’t mind the more basic or simple stays.

The women at check in was very welcoming and friendly. We upgraded into the “suite”. It was cozy, clean, and beautiful view. Housekeeping was super friendly and when I asked for a few things I needed they delivered quickly. The property is quiet, quaint, and perfect for a short getaway. It was the perfect beach/cabin feel.

This is the cutest little resort ever! We loved our stay and had the best time sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful sunset. The grounds are beautifully maintained, our little beach house was super clean, location was perfect. We all loved it.

We were surprised at the cleanliness and friendliness of the people at Pelican. We did not expect a Marriott for under $100, but a clean and friendly place to stay. We may even consider coming back with friends for a kinder visit.

Positives: 1. Property was quiet, and I would hear the birds in the morning. It was peaceful to drink my coffee in the morning and listen to nature. 2. Close to many dining options. Several within walking distance 3. Adirondack chairs available for use on the bayside beach. Negatives: 1. The information listed on Expedia is highly incorrect. I was expecting to walk next door to Jimmie Johnson's Big Chill as indicated on Expedia "This Key Largo hotel is on the beach, 0.1 mi (0.2 km) from Jimmy Johnson's Big Chill ... " and also " Jimmy Johnson's Big Chill - ‪3 min walk‬" In actuality Jimmie Johnson's Big Chill is 4.7 miles away. Not close enough to walk to for dinner. I found that out the hard way. 2. My bathroom was tiny and cramped. I could sit on the toilet and wash my hands in the sink at the same time. 3. Electrical Outlets. I had an older room and had to unplug the lamp in the morning to make coffee as the only other electric outlets had the dorm frig and tv plugged into it.

overall the place was very nice only issue i had was the bathroom window no covering at all .you can see in and out no blinds ,no obscured glass nothing at all. I had to put my backpack on window sill to block .Also the front door window had no covering either although the window was a little higher still people can see inside on room.
