Balcony, Pool, & Near Duval - Curry House Room 6 Curry House / Room 6
Balcony, Pool, & Near Duval - Curry House Room 6on the 1st floor was great, however the TV remote didn't work upon arrival and after two attempts with the property manager, it was never resolved. The roof of our room started leaking after a heavy rainstorm. Management was quick to move us to another available room on the premises and the TV remove did work. On a scale from 1 to 10, I give our stay a 7 due to the above two instances.
We stayed in room 6. Very loud window unit. TV remote did not work very difficult to get into the unit. I would not recommend way to pricy for what you get. Very disappointed
Quiet Street. Quiet, quaint building. Easy walking to many places.
No front desk or live person but prompt replies via text and email.
Early check out (10:00) and late check in times (4:00).
Pool needed to be cleaned. Do not provide milk with the complimentary coffee. Rooms could benefit from minor makeup (spackle the old holes in the walls, etc)
My girlfriend and I stayed here with my brother and his wife and had an enjoyable experience. The property is a 3-story house thatâs been converted to individual rooms so you are sharing common areas such as the entrance, living room area and one bathroom that is in the hallway on the first floor. We were in Room 6 and my brother and his wife were in Room 8 and these two rooms had their own bathrooms but I donât know if this is the case for all of the rooms.
Our room was nice enough and clean but this is an older home and could be seen as slightly rough around the edges depending on your expectations. There is a shared pool with ample patio furniture around it and a covered porch to hang out on. A 5-star resort this is not but it is very acceptable and in a great area just a few blocks off Duval on Fleming Street. Out of courtesy to the fact that this property is quiet and quaint and all guests were adult couples, I would say that this is not the place to bring young children. The accommodations are really set up for couples or single adults.
I was in contact with Olivia from the management company several times and she was very attentive and helpful. I am very happy with the overall experience and wouldnât hesitate to stay here again.
While on our stay we check in three other guests. The house is in a prom location but the service was lackluster. We watched the pool service pour chemicals including some type of acid with no out of service sign. We watched the same service break a window in the French door. The one common area was small and the furniture was worn. The mini bottles of water were plastic and room temp.
I suppose compared to other locations this one was well under par.
By the way, my check in services were responded to with okay and thank you. Yet these guest would have been sitting on the front porch. The other guests made it inside the house via the unlatched front gate and front door.
We will not return to Curry House. Itâs updates are many and for the price we can stay in luxury.
In walking distance to pretty much everything. We came in on the Key West express so I wanted to stay close and this was perfect. The pool was great and the property was very quiet while we were there.
This property was a cute bed and breakfast style stay, great location! It was a bit small - just a bed, small shower, and kitchenette, but has everything you need for a pleasant stay, very close to Duvall Street.
The property was maintained excellently, the building is old but kept up to date. The pool area was well maintained. We felt secure after meeting the security guard. The room was clean but a little cramped. There was no place to hang clothes, there was no shelf in the bathroom. It was frustrating as we were given the wrong Roku TV remote, while reported this was never remedied.
Check in was late, the room hadnât been cleaned. The pics I saw of the property didnât match where I stayed. There isnât any area to hang clothes. The room is tiny, and the bathroom is smaller. Itâs like using the restroom and trying to take a shower in a portalet. The plastic stall had been repainted 3/4 of the way down the stall. You canât move in the shower enough to soap up and rinse without turning off the water. There isnât daily room service, I only was able to get fresh towels when I was lucky enough to catch the cleaning crew there. The pool was clean maybe 2 days I was there. Perhaps it being windy contributed to that. The dehumidifier was never serviced the entire stay and wasnât working when I checked in ( how hard is it for someone to empty water) as a paying guest it shouldnât be my responsibility. The location is okay if you donât mind long walks. I recommend if you stay here anyway you rent a scooter or a bike. Parking is a nightmare in this part of town, as the Curry house doesnât pay for any guest parking. Also if you come down during March and April be aware that spring break affects the crowd size in town. Key West is amazing, but I will stay in a different location next trip. When I wasnât able to get in my room on time, ( I had asked for an earlier check in because one add said it was 3pm and another said 4 pm) I contacted the company and theyâre comment was oh you can have a late check out. Not what I wanted or expected. Very disappointed with the flippant attitude. You have to pay when you reserve the room, so little recourse unless you want to battle through your cc company. Coffee maker in the room didnât work, there wasnât an ice machine. There was a refrigerator on the outside porch but was turned on 2 days before we left. The guest kitchen area is locked off and the coffee out there was gone after the first day. I will not stay here again. I guess they did the best with what they had to work with but for the money they charge for this property itâs not worth it for me. They have multiple properties on the island, hopefully they do better at their other properties.
