Really great stay here. It's a lovely old hotel/pub full of character with uneven floors and small cosy rooms. Compact bathroom was spotlessly clean. Full English breakfast was very good, freshly cooked and served with a smile. We would stay again.
It was close to the wedding venue and had an OK breakfast. The staff were quite helpful but it was badly let down by the smell in the place which was not great and also dowsed with cheap air sprays making it hard to breath (I have asthma). The bed was ok and seemed clean despite the odd stain that hadnât washed out of the sheet. The shower was good and clean but the bathroom had mould elsewhere and paint/plaster coming off the ceiling.
A lovely old building with uneven floors and stairs that made walking around funny! Room was comfortable and clean, had everything we needed.
Breakfast was nice as was the owner. No complaints, except perhaps the limited ale/beer - could have had more variety of Hobson or other local breweries than lager/cider which meant we only stayed for one pint, before finding a pub that had beer we enjoyed. Shame really as it was a lovely old pub
Spent a pleasant night with my wife at The Talbot Hotel and we were well looked after by Craig and his colleagues. The hotel dates back to the 1600s and is very atmospheric and full of history. Although no evening meal was available the full English breakfast in the morning was excellent. Would stay again.
The hotel overall was good but dated; fine for an overnight stop. The shower was good. Beds were comfortable. Staff were excellent. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked.
Wonderful old building, friendly, helpful and efficient staff; clean and pleasant room; good breakfast. Evening menu very limited but good and tasty food.
