Spacious unit, pet friendly, ski trail less than 100ft away - great! Everything was clean, kitchen was well equipped. Interior is a little worn, exterior needs a paint job, but we were there to ski with our dogs to cuddle us in the evening so who cares!? Owner responded quickly to an email requesting a new lighter for fireplace (not thru VRBO app).
Cleaning crew was very nice when we met them outside the unit one day. WiFi was fast - we binged the Mandalorian in 2 nights!
Phone wasn't hooked up and we had no cell service so couldn't call for pizza or get a call from outside, until we realized our son's phone had WiFi calling enabled. Consider setting that up before you come - also, bring your confirmation email with WiFi password in case the sign in unit isn't correct as was the case for us.
There are few truly ski-on/ski-off units at the Beast (and fwiw, Sunrise Village up the road didn't have open trails until 1/6), so we would definitely consider this place again. But there's a short little hill to climb up to get to Great Eastern and the best "path" to the trail wasn't obvious or easy. You'll need to walk in your ski boots carrying your skis/poles potentially in some deep snow, including the snowplow bank on side of road. Our older teens did fine, young kids might need help. This fact wouldn't deter us from coming back. And, other places along Great Eastern weren't much better. It is about 10min drive to the Snowshed/Ramshead/K1 base area if you want to drive to the easiest slopes for beginners.
