The Grange Manor House, Norfolk – sleeps 30, perfect for large gatherings

The Grange Manor House is an elegant Grade II-listed country house set within four acres of private grounds bordering the River Nar in the Norfolk village of Setchey.

With approximately 8,000 sq ft of space, eight bedrooms, eight bathrooms and flexible sleeping arrangements for up to 30 guests, the house gives large groups the rare opportunity to stay and celebrate together without feeling crowded.

The oldest part dates from the Queen Anne period, and the interiors combine historic character with the comfort and facilities needed for a relaxed group stay.

The Grange is particularly well suited to extended-family gatherings, milestone birthdays, reunions and weekends with friends.

Space to gather—and space to escape

Several distinctive reception rooms allow guests to spend time together while still having room to find a quieter corner.

The yellow drawing room overlooks the grounds and features an antique piano and seasonal log fire. The library offers a peaceful place to read, relax or watch television, while the cinema room has a large projector screen and surround sound for group film nights.

The separate games room includes a pool table, table tennis, table football, a Wii with games and an additional television with DVD player, providing plenty to entertain both children and adults.
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.

Eight bedrooms and flexible accommodation for up to 30 guests

The eight bedrooms are arranged across three floors. A ground-floor bedroom and bathroom provide stair-free access.

The principal bedroom is exceptionally spacious, with a four-poster bed, large walk-in dressing area and a bathroom featuring a roll-top bath, twin washbasins and separate shower. Several of the other bedrooms include sofas or day beds, and the extensive bathroom arrangements make the house particularly practical for a large group.

The Grange can accommodate up to 30 guests through a combination of double beds, twin beds, day beds, trundle beds and supplementary beds. This flexibility works particularly well for groups containing a mixture of couples, adults and children.

Please tell us the composition of your group when enquiring so that we can recommend the most suitable bedroom arrangements. All agreed supplementary beds will be fully made up with fresh linen before guests arrive.

Towels, hairdryers and complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body wash are also provided.

A kitchen designed for large groups

The spacious kitchen is at the heart of the house and has been designed so that families and friends can cook, eat and spend time together.
It includes a double oven, two dishwashers and a spacious hob, with the AGA also available during the winter months.

The kitchen dining area seats 20 guests comfortably, making it ideal for informal breakfasts, lunches and relaxed group meals.

For special dinners, the formal dining room—with its chandelier, fireplace and historic atmosphere—can accommodate up to 20 guests. It provides a memorable setting for a birthday dinner, anniversary or other celebration.

Private dining can also be arranged with our highly recommended local chef, subject to availability and separate agreement.

Four acres of private grounds

Outside, the large patio offers plenty of space for relaxed outdoor dining and entertaining. A double brick-built barbecue sits beside the patio, and barbecue coals and firelighters are supplied.

Guests have use of the full-size private tennis court, with tennis and badminton equipment provided.

Private archery and axe-throwing sessions can be arranged in the grounds, while clay-pigeon shooting is available locally. These activities are subject to availability and should be booked in advance.

Perfect for large Families

The Grange works particularly well for multigenerational family stays.

Wooden cots are available free of charge for babies and toddlers. Highchairs, stair gates and baby monitors are also available on request.

Exploring Norfolk

The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking, cycling, fishing and golfing while the Norfolk coast and its beaches are approximately 17 miles away.

King’s Lynn is around four miles from the house and offers shops, supermarkets, historic buildings and direct rail services to London.

Sandringham, Ely, Cambridge, Welney Wetland Centre, local golf courses and sailing facilities are also within reach.
