While its clean, its hardly comfortable. A sad excuse for a mattress so light, it slids around when sitting down. A couple of flat pillows and flimsy, lightweight bedding. Just sad, cause its these little thinks that are easy to do. If it had a cozy easy chair in the room, but just some dated, lightweight armchairs that required one of the bed pillows so you back doesnt hurt. Small TV, but I travel with a 14" tablet, easy to park on a bedside table. Bottom line, too much for too little.

I travel a lot. Best check in ever! I don't know the gentleman's name, but super funny! Told him I HAD to put this part of my stay in my review. Easy check in, lots of parking, clean pool, playground, picnic tables, grill should you want it & the hiking mountains are very close (why we were in the area). We were on the 2nd floor and it was so very quiet. Rooms and stairwells definitely need some updating, but very clean. Bed I found was really comfortable. Restaurant next door is convenient. Good food, but only sell their own beer (so if you want a Mich Ultra like myself, you will be disappointed). We booked at the very last minute so the price was high, but I'm thinking if you plan ahead it would be much less than what we paid. Absolutely the place to stay if you are in the area.

This place is not a brand new box hotel. It's a charming early-mid 20th century motel built to accommodate ski vacationers. It's kept clean and is much less expensive than other nearby alternatives. The wife and I had an evening planned in nearby Woodstock and didn't want to drive the 2 hours home at night so we booked a room. Good choice.

Front desk was friendly, and very respectful/polite while answering another guest’s multiple and slightly repetitive questions. Room and bathroom were dated, as reflected in other reviews & photos. No screen on window. Outside play area was a nice surprise for kids. Overall, as expected for price.

A little TLC of the rooms would go a long way. The room cleanliness wasn't great. The beds were clean at least, but they weren't very comfortable. Our favorite part about this stay was walking next door to the brewery / restaurant. Not sure I would stay again

Red Ranch Inn Experience

I came up to visit family, we couldn't find other motels until we were already up here. However I had booked Red Ranch because it came up family friendly we booked 2 nights, and my children loved it so much that we booked another night for them. I had a kitchen I got to prepare a pretty nice lunch for the children we ended up BBQ at my in laws home which we were able to drive 10 minutes back to our hotel. I would love to visit again make much more use of the kitchen.

Uncomfortable beds

The check in was wonderful The young man was extremely friendly and helpful. I had trouble getting the door to unlock, he helped me but even he had difficulty. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The price was very low so we didnt expect much but a little paint, elbow grease and creativity would go a long way.

Propert was dated, but not “run down”. Extremely clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Internet took a few attempts to log in, but eventually worked okay. Parking was convenient. Everything we needed was within a 15 minute drive.

I like to support local businesses and this seems like one. Check-in was a little off the norm but acceptable. Host had his shirt on inside out when he popped out of the back room. LOL It was almost 70 degrees and we had the door open to our room. The host asked us if we wanted chairs to sit outside and asked us to close the door to our room because the heat was on. The rooms are very dark when the door is shut. We wanted fresh air too. We just arrived 30 minutes ago after a 3 hour drive.

Stayed up here to go skiing at hunter mountain. It’s a great cozy place with the attendant, Rich, being very welcoming and helpful. It’s conveniently located next to a brewery with food to walk over to for a quick bite. Would stay here again.
