We rented this house for a two-week stay, primarily because of its location and pet-friendly accommodations. The proximity to the Duck Boardwalk is excellent, and the backyard is ideal for pets, providing both space to exercise and shade. The house was also clean and well organized. Our biggest disappointment was discovering that the property does not have Duck beach access. After consulting the outdated guest book and contacting Resort Realty, we learned our designated beach access was 5.8 miles away. This was surprising given the property description's map indicating a short walk to both the boardwalk and the beach. We believe the listing should clearly disclose that renters cannot access Duck beaches. We also experienced ongoing HVAC issues. Although the thermostats are restricted from cooling below 71F, the larger problem was that temperatures frequently reset overnight, with the middle floor reaching 83F and the other floors 76F. Waking up sweating and having to adjust thermostats during the night was frustrating. Maintenance eventually corrected the schedule, but the middle-floor unit appeared to run constantly while blowing warm air.Additional issues included loose noisy headboards that appeared to have makeshift repairs and inadequate window coverings, resulting in limited privacy and very early morning light. This property has potential, but the owner and management should clearly disclose the beach-access situation and address the HVAC problems.
