All of the restaurants were well above excellent. The view from Cotociel was worth the price of the meal. I will stay in the Granvia whenever I visit Kyoto.

Let me give a very special thanks to the staff at the hotel. My wife tore a ligament in her ankle when we were out dining. When we got back to the hotel, they got us a wheelchair and let us use it till the next day. They even escorted us to the train station. The hotel is lovely. I will love to stay here again.

Hotel is right on top of the Kyoto JR station but one cannot hear the trains at all. Since it is at the Kyoto station, there are great eating and shopping options close by. It is also very convenient to hop on the metro or grab a taxi. The hotel itself is fairly nice, we stayed on the club lounge level and had free use of the lounge including snacks and drinks all day and check out at the lounge vs. dealing with the front desk. Definitely a strong +.

This hotel was an ideally located property for easy access to trains and subways! The Kyoto Tower is just across the street and shopping areas are all in walkable distances. Great hotel for your first stay in Kyoto!

Very convenient

Being at the beautiful Kyoto train station--with its many levels of shops and restaurants--is super convenient in terms of getting to the bullet trains and local trains. The hotel itself is nice but I'll just caution that it's immense and has VERY long hallways. We, unfortunately, got stuck in a room near the end so it involved a lot of walking each day just to get to the elevator. The employees were pleasant but not as nice and eager to help as employees at other hotels during our stay in Japan.

Great hotel

This is a high quality hotel in an excellent location with great rooms. I couldn't think of a better place to stay while vacationing in Kyoto. Great architecture, great views, with the station, shops, and restaurants literally out the front door and under the same roof.

Shame about the gym hygiene, otherwise excellent

The Granvia Kyoto is a lovely hotel with excellent rooms. However, the advertised gym is not an amenity offered, but a pay per use gym; and that is not mentioned in the Hotels.com listing. Transparency would be nice. Even with paying AUD11 to visit the gym, the staff were not enforcing hygiene guidelines about sanitizing the machines and the use of sweat towels. Yuk!
