Great rooms and very comfortable. Staff are helpful and friendly and location is increeible. Most sites, restaurants and shopping areas are within walking distance. Only downside were the coin laundrey machines, however, there are several laundromats nearby so not an issue. Highly recommend.

Modern and easy to find hotel in Kyoto with friendly, helpful staff. Good transport links and good places to eat nearby. Hotel rooms are a good size decent air con, clean, comfy beds and facilities. Would definitely stay here again when next in Kyoto.

We thought that the rooms were very quiet and comfortable and the bed was also comfortable. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the location is perfect close to Omiya and Shijo stations and buses with short 9 or 28 bus ride to Kyoto station. Also walking distance to Nishiki market.

Good in terms of location, amenities... and more!

Travelodge is a budget hotel chain with a reputation for a nice place to stay, albeit with notoriously hard beds, and this was exactly the case in Kyoto. So, yes, the beds aren't great and not really conducive to a great night's sleep, but everything else about this place is great! The rooms are spacious, well-decorated and even contain a little sofa for you to sit on while you watch the TV. There is plenty of room to breathe, The en-suite bathrooms are relatively accessible and easy to operate, The hotel itself provides a breakfast buffet (for a price) and coin-operated laundry machines which really help the lightly-packed traveller. Of course there are drink vending machines nearby and in the hotel itself, but the hotel does provide free hot drinks in the rooms, like they do in the West. In terms of location, the hotel itself is within walking distance of a main road with links to the Kyoto bus network; I would personally recommend getting a taxi to the hotel after hours, but that's not a necessity. Whether you're a tourist wanting to "do" Kyoto or just a gamer looking for a place to shoot videos, this is the hotel for you, at a very reasonable price. It's nothing exceptional... but it's certainly got everything you need!

Very food hotel close to many good places to eat and easy access to public transportation. The room was a little small for us but we knew that is typical in Japan
