Best experience in a hotel. Large public bath, large room overlooking a beautiful garden, kind and helpful staff. Chose the dinner and breakfast option, which was fantastic. Many art pieces decorate the hotel corridors, and it feels like you are transported to the past. A small tea ceremony in the lobby in the morning.
This ryokan is worth the extra distance. I wish I could have stayed more than two nights!
Highly recommend this hotel if you want to experience a traditional Japanese accomodation! The ambiance is very welcoming and warm! I loved the food so much and also onsen with its beautiful scenery! Hotel’s meal was served traditionally and was very much worth the price! Good quality with amazing staff! There is also a shuttle in the mornings that makes your commute easier! Hotel is 5 minutes walk from the bus station.
We enjoyed eastern-style room. Very clean. Mini fridge and filled, ready-to-serve hot water dispenser in room for tea or instant ramen was nice. Near bus stop. Mile or more walk to dining or 7-11. Due to limited open hours and our failure to pre-book dining on site, we did not use the on site spring water baths.
Such an amazing experience, room was very beautiful along with the surrounding area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They alao had a shuttle which brought you into the city and they also sold day passes for the metro which was a plus for us! We would definitely recommend to others and come back again!
The dinner and breakfast I purchased were generally good, but some ingredients such as the fruits and sashimi were dry and stale, as if they had been refrigerated for a substaintial amount of time before serving. The ammenities are nice, and the hot bath was relaxing.
This property is on the outskirts of Kyoto so dining options were limited. However the breakfasts were fantastic and we should have tried the dinner option. Transportation to and from Kyoto station was easy given the nearby bus stop and City Line 6. We enjoyed the large pool (although it unfortunately closes each day at 5 which is too early) and the communal bath was relaxing! Staff was helpful and friendly. Room was large, quiet and very clean. Area around the property was safe and very quiet. A great place to stay. I have been back home for four days and have already recommended this place to a few coworkers.
Literally everything about this place has been absolutely amazing.
We got the tatami floor room with a bath and a view. The room is huge, the bathtub is huge, and the futons are more comfortable than expected. The view is beautiful too!
I go in and out a lot to smoke, so I like that the smoking section is close to the entrance.
But every time I walk by the front desk I am greeted with nothing but happiness and smiles. I have felt sooooo welcome here. The private Onsen was super nice and clean too! The location is pretty far away from anything so be prepared to spend a lot on taxis. But I knew that coming here. I'm happy it's on the super outskirts of Kyoto. It's so quiet up here in the mountains compared to the center of the city. This was the perfect way to end our trip in Japan.
There's also lots of temples within walking distance to see!
They even held our luggage for us on the first day so we could explore. Then our luggage was waiting for us in the room when we walked in!
The place has really good wifi too!
It
This was a definite 10/10.
We stayed at Ryokan Nenrinbo recently and had a wonderful stay. The room was beautiful and clean with a view of the cherry blossom trees from outside our window, and the futons were super comfortable. They had complimentary hot water and sencha for us to have each morning, which was a really nice touch. The only thing we were disappointed in was the food - we had originally paid to have breakfast and dinner included in our stay but we disliked the dinner the first night so much that we ended up not having any other meals at the hotel. I would recommend booking a room but skipping the food and instead getting to try all the wonderful other dining options in Kyoto.
Everything was good. Staffs were so friendly and kind, and they tried to explain everything to make me feel comfy. The room we stayed was newly renovated (or they made them new building, I am not sure) so clean and the food (dinner and breakfast which I booked) was very healthy and delicious. And the public bath was really good. We didn’t need to take a shower separately. Overall, it was great pleasure to stay here.
This is a charming and authentic Japanese inn. The only beds are futon mats on a tatami floor and the service is extremely attentive. The breakfast is a major meal that we highly recommend, it is beautiful and all the guest go down to breakfatsbwearing the traditional vacation robes that they provide in the rooms. Overall, we had a great time. It is far from the city center, so it is good for people looking for a glimpse of a quieter neighborhood at the foot of the hills.
I absolutely loved staying at Nenrimbo! Especially the customer service and hospitality made me feel welcomed and special. I arrived after 8pm and had to take a cab ( a few minutes away ) to go to a nearby convenience store as the hotel is located in a little bit remote area and it’s dark around. But for those who are looking for a place to regain inner zen and be mindful, this is THE place to be. I’ll certainly be staying here again on weekends.
We took a taxi from our first hotel to reach here as was a bit far from the city. It has a very beautiful garden, we got a room with the garden mountain view, was just amazing. It is very quiet so we had some peaceful time. We stayed for a day, the time frame they have 3pm -10am might be a short for a day trip, but we were ok about that. The main feature was their dinner and breakfast, which I recommend to experience! It was grand and so unique. If you are up for Japanese experience it is a must!
The ryokan was amazing, first time to stay. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The only downside of it. Would be the fact that it’s far away front kyoto station. Making moving around Kyoto a bit difficult. Only means of transportation would be either Taxi from the hotel or you can take the bus number 6 that comes every 30-60 minutes and the station is very close to the hotel.
Their onsen was also very clean and nice.
Amazing staff members, wonderful food, and great service. The only negative thing was the unreliable internet connection. Overall, we were extremely happy with the hotel.
Decided to try a ryoken experience and wasn't disappointed. The room was traditional Japanese. Large and comfortable. First thing that sprung out was no bed but that's made up for you during dinner. The dinner was exquisite. So many courses in a degustation menu. Lots of sushimi soups and rice. Some meat. You won't go hungry and wine, Saki, beer reasonably priced. Futon made up on arrival back to your room and it was surprisingly comfortable. Breakfast was Japanese again. Didn't recognise .most food but a pleasant change. An expensive night but when in Rome.. or kyoto, try it
