Filthy Cesspool

Absolute cesspool. Rude rude rude employee at the desk refused to honor our reservation and give us a room. I’m actually happy this happened since the place is quite literally falling apart. Rugs are torn up and covered in paint. Piles of plaster all over the floors and you can see where chunks of ceiling and wall have fallen down. There were dirty linens piled up in the lobby. It stunk of mildew as well.

When i got there, the was no A/C, the fixed ridht away. Then about 9pm, the electric the room goes out. The wanted to wait until morning to get me a new room. But I made them get me one the night. So, i get the room, A/C downy work and the can't fix until tomorrow. So, I get ready for bed. Then in the morning, no running water in the tub. So I had to take a shower in a different room. They told me they would get me another room. I went out for dinner. Got back around 8pm and the staff said they didn't have another room. Any the A/C still isn't fixed. I told them I need to take a shower for my daughter's graduation tomorrow. So i had to shower in a different room again in the morning. The site stated they had a pool, nope, under maintenence, along with the restaurant and bar. The claimed that has a continental breakfast,. It was bags of chips, cookies and soda. The place made my stay miserable. They shouldn't even be opened for business, the place, the mattresses and walls and shower curtians were a mess and dirty. I have pucs but this won't let me upload them. Basically, it was a living nightmare.

The entire experiance was a joke. There was food left in the fridge, no garbage cans in the room, hair on the shower wall, the bathroom floor was disgusting, the pool was closed, the ice machine didn't work, the continental breakfast looked like it came out of the vending machine (Twinkies, DingDongs, Hostess Cupcakes), and the place was under construction (thank you for the nail in my tire). IT WAS A DUMP!!

Checked in at about 8pm, left stuff in my room, including a meter plugged into a charger (that I use for work) sitting on the desk. There were no "do not disturb" signs available. I get back after dinner to find the meter gone. After tearing apart my room, I go downstairs to the desk. They confirmed, in very broken English, that someone had been cleaning the rooms and must've taken it. They did return it to my room shortly thereafter, so everything was resolved. But seriously, what kind of hotel cleans their rooms at 9pm? The pool is out of service. There is no continental breakfast. The pictures do not match the appearance of the hotel. Looking at reviews on Google, there are multiple reports of cockroaches, etc. Just stay away!

This is the old DAYS INN, they have DISH network, and only truly get 5 channels. The beds are old, the pool (indoor) is closed permanently. The desk agent left my drivers license in his copier so I had to drive back from Baraboo, WI. It’s a total failing mess! Not recommended for anyone, it’s not even worth $50. The desk agent said he wanted $5 for tax even though Expedia always pays tax as part of the upfront charge anyway, so yes, they are that janky.

Where to begin- took 20 mins to get anyone to the desk. Another 30 to get checked in. Staff talked on phone to expida and openly discussed how i had already paid more than i shouldve because the luxury king i booked was not an option. I did not receive any compensation or discount. Room was musky, not sure why until i took off my shoes and my socks were instantly wet. The whole floor was soaked. Went to shower, the wayer backed up, gross black chunky water that nearly made me vomit. No one again at the front desk despite my three separate attempts so i went out and bought a plunger. I had to shower after being touched by that gross water!! I finally got it unclogged after about 45 mins of plunging. I stood on the tub edges and took a rinse only shower because it was still very slow to drain.the pool that is advertised is down and has been for approximately 5 years. The continental breakfast- used to be the best in the area was literally pne granola bar thhat sat nexr to a very old pot of coffee. The coffee was, by my estimate, at least 24 houts old. And i meant what i said- there was one single granola bar. There are no locks on the exterior doors, drug users roaming the halls until 6 am, filth and grime all through the halls. I was married on this property, i have a great deal of regard for the hotel....but it needs to be torn down before someone is hurt, gets sick or dies because of the unsafe conditions. Its an a

This property is nothing on how it’s advertised. The room had a terrible odor to it, the tub was black and I felt very unsafe as there were people outside “smoking”. I felt so unsafe at your hotel and went a booked a different hotel for night. Never again will I book a room at your hotel.

This place is ridiculous! I had to pay $60 he gave me no coin in money exchange when I checked in. I had to message property about staying 2 nights and even had to ask when I arrived. He told me u can just pay tomorrow which was today. How inconvenient for me, the guest, correct?!? And they have pool area which is all closed now and has been for a long time probably over a year now. Yet there advertisement stated pool for a long time. I couldn’t find it listed anymore now with this dump motel. Other horrible stays here that really stick out and I’m trying to work both with motel and/or Expedia on reimbursement for are: 7/4/2023 with DH. There was black stuff coming out water faucet in room. They changed room to a suite that night and there was a cricket sound in the tub all night yet no cricket… 8/4/2024 super hot outside and ac did not work in room. It’s like because we didn’t notify anyjne the night of than I don’t get reimbursed or even a free night stay. Yano I told the guy who has taken way too much of my time today that I need a free week or more to stay because this is not appropriate and says have cable tv, I should get >2 channels with cable. At first the guy from front desk who came to talk with me about the cable/sat not working. I asked so this tv only gets 2 channels. I’m going to call number that comes up on tv cuz the front desk hasn’t been hrlpful at all! Nor has Expedia, really!

Our Valentine’s Day was spoiled by the experience at this hotel. I had booked a Luxury room with a king bed to enjoy after a nice dinner in the city. We were given one (out of two) working keys to a room with two double beds even though King bed was in the description that I signed at check in. No upfront communication about that. Response when I pointed it out was simply “We don’t have any king beds. You didn’t book with me; you’ll have to call someone if you want to cancel.” Completely rude! If there was an error in their system or coordination with Orbitz, he could have called in advance or at least mentioned the snafu upon check in and offered to cancel if it wasn’t satisfactory. It wasn’t and so we ended up driving 40 minutes north in a snowstorm that we had wanted to avoid. Pitiful.
