We came to Saranac Lake to check out the Adirondacks. It is a beautiful area. The Cabin is great for kicking back and soaking in the surroundings. We brought a boat with fishing in mind. Not such a good idea.
Oh! the cabin advertisement indicated that it was "Blue" . Well, that's only half true. Like I said, we brought a boat so we could leave from the Cabin and fish. But, if one arrives at the cabin by water, it is brown, not blue.
It rains on us for 3 days, but we still hadfun.
Stunning location, cute cottage, but stairway so treacherous, we (aged 78 and 82)slept downstairs on single beds in extra bedroom. Bathroom, especially shower, was bare minimum.
The lake is gorgeous and the location was perfect -- secluded and private but also convenient to town. We were very comfortable at the cabin (even when it got down to 40 degrees one night) and would certainly go back.
During our stay especially enjoyed the walking trail in the woods where the house is located, kayaking and swimming in the lake, and hearing the calls of loons in the evenings.
The house is in a beautiful location, with a great deck and dock for viewing the lake and mountains. There are a lot of steps to get down to the dock, but once there it is a great location to sit and relax, swim, paddle or fish. The house itself is very comfortable, with the loft bedroom having particularly fantastic views. The steps up to the loft are very steep, almost ladder-like. Saranac Village is a short drive, making it easy to go into town for shopping or eating. We had a great week here with the only drawbacks being the amount of boat traffic and the very small shower (if youâre taller than 5â5â youâll have to bend over to get your head under the shower head), but overall a lovely location in the Adirondacks.
A beautiful spot for enjoying the Adirondacks! Loved the small, cozy, comfortable cabin. Loved using the kayaks to paddle with the loons at sunset. Just a heads up - there are a lot of stairs down to lake edge and steep ladder up to sleeping loft. Both fine for us, but something others may need to consider. It's a peaceful spot, but be aware that there is a lot of boat traffic back and forth in front of the cabin -- it's a through-way between bigger lakes. That was the only downside for us. Early morning and late evening were quiet. Great location!
Nice, quiet cabin with lovely view of the lake and mountains. The cabin has everything you need for a couple or small family. No potable water but plenty of bottled water for drinking and cooking. The shower was small (we are both tall) but we knew that going in. Lots of boat traffic on the lake but we enjoyed kayaking and spotted an eagle not far from the cabin.
Adorable A-frame in rustic setting. Beautiful view of lake and mountains from house and porch. Access to lake with Kayaks, paddleboards and canoe available for use. I spent a whole day exploring the lake in one of the kayaks. Saw loons on the lake and paddled into a sea of lilly pads. It was so beautiful. We also got to see the blue supermoon. The light from the moon reflected on the water. My daughter and her friend went and layed down on the dock just looking up at the moon and stars for hours. Saranac has restaurants and shops but you are also very close to Lake Placid which has lot of cute shops and restaurants as well as the Olympic center and thrilling activies like the mountain coaster or bobsleds.
Perfect location for swimming, boating, hiking and relaxing surrounded by the beauty of nature.
This was a great location for our girlâs trip!
Amazing location with beautiful views and very peaceful and quiet. Enjoyed coffee on the deck each morning while listening to Loons, and kayaking everyday watching the Bald Eagles and taking in the view of the high peaks. It is a very short drive into Saranac and Lake Placid for dining or shopping even though the location feels remote. We had a very relaxing week and enjoyed everything about our stay and hope to return next summer
This was the perfect place for our family to relax, play games, and paddle on the lake. A peaceful and serene spot that is conveniently located to nearby hiking, waterfalls and the cute towns of Lake Saranac and Lake Placid.
Although we ran into bad weather during our September stay, we enjoyed all the amenities - hiking, kayaking, viewing the beautiful scenery from the deck, and sitting at the fire pit where we saw a grey fox.
I stayed with some old high school friends, and we had a great time. The view is spectacular, the fishing is good, and the setting is peaceful. You can catch fish from the dock. The water is beautiful. There are many coves and islands to explore with the kayaks. Lake traffic might be busy one day, but other days you'll feel like the lake is all yours.
There's no wifi, but cell phone service is functional. There is good hiking within a short drive or even within the neighborhood. The kitchen is functional. There is a gravel road in, but you can reach the house with 2-wheel drive. Go here for seclusion and a beautiful setting at a reasonable price.
Cabin was on a beautiful rocky piece of land with a short walk down to the lake. We spend a lot of time on the dock fishing and enjoying the sound of the loon and passerbys.
The rental of this property was smooth as opposed to another site I tried to use. The manager had the property cleaned and ready. I appreciated all the communication and how informative and detailed her emails were. Wonderful lake with loons, a delightful eagle and a sky filled with stars.
This cabin was just what we were looking for. Quiet and private but close enough to shops and restaurants. Easy access to lots of hikes and having the kayaks there at the cabin for our use was so convenient. Yes, the bathroom was small, but we knew that going into it and it really wasnât an issue, though I could see it being a challenge if you are very tall. You canât use the tap water for drinking or cooking but Karolyn provided plenty of bottled water and a water cooler with both hot and cold water, so that wasnât a problem either. Karolyn was great about communication and check in and check out were very simple. We had a great stay and would definitely return if we have the opportunity.
The cabin was perfectly located above Flower Lake. We loved the view.
It was pretty high up, 50 steps to the water. Easy drive to town, wonderful kayaking, and lots of hiking nearby.
Carolyn was very responsine as a host.
