No staff was available at this hotel after 8â9 pm. When my room keys didnât work, I had to call and eventually reached someone. she made it seem like the issue was my fault. After waiting about 20 minutes, she gave me new keys, but they didnât work either. She didnât wait for me to test them. Luckily i was able to catch her on her way out. Then she gave me another keys but it didnt work again. Even her master key didnt work. Come to find out it was the door batteries.
I understand that things like that can happen, but whatâs unacceptable is being rude to your guests and making them feel like itâs their fault.
I didnât receive an apology or any proactive communication â I had to keep asking what the plan was. If staff members donât want to be called at night, then hospitality may not be the right job. Guests deserve respect and clear communication, especially when problems arise.
