Loved this 1880s home, which is the oldest home still standing in Lake Toxaway. Intriguing family photos, letters, and memorabilia throughout the home will leave you mesmerized. There are history books to read, which
will give you an amazing perspective into life and business at the turn of the 19th century. I enjoyed learning how and why Lake Toxaway was established, and was astounded when I read about the 3 hurricanes that came through in the summer of 1916. After so much rainfall in a short period of time, the dam collapsed and sent a 30 foot wall of water, and 5 billion gallons of water down the mountain. You must come experience this amazing, relaxing environment and see some of the 28 waterfalls that I have counted so far. This is truly God's Country. You will know when you see it.
