This is one hotel chain that really knows how to do things right.
Very professionally managed and operated, with no nonsense involved and little or nothing to fault.
Really great service all round, clean as a whistle and everything fully functional for a very reasonable price.
Can't speak highly enough about how much at ease I felt staying there and would definitely stay there again any day.
I've stayed in 2 different 'Hop-Inns' before and liked the cleanliness, attentive staff and the feel of the place. Also it can be nice to know what you're getting, before you arrive. Although this one was basically the same, it seemed a bit tired and in need of some freshening up. Sadly, I didn't find the staff on reception to be attentive... it's not that they were bad as such, but they weren't very welcoming, every time I had been out and returned, no-one would say hello or ask if everything was ok etc... not exactly a big deal but I had come to expect a bit more warmth and hospitality from previous stays at 'Hop Inns'. Unfortunately, I was given a room next to a supply room and was woken each day at about 6.30 am to the sound of things being moved around, which was actually quite loud and I am rarely bothered by noise in hotels. Although they seem to be a good brand overall, I'm not so sure about staying at a 'Hop Inn' again in the future.
Good Budget Hotel. I like their standard all over Thailand. Super soft bed, hot shower with good Wifi, I couldn't ask more for such a budget hotel. Only down side is free breakfast is not available in this branch.
A bit of the centre but no problem as only 15 min walk or cheap taxi ride. Can walk to bus station 5 min
Loved lampang better than chiang mai in every way
Visit the elephant hospital and try and make the weekend night market
