Disappointing and filthy
The cottage smelled strongly of animals. All surfaces were covered in white fur & dust. The dryer was so full of lint it disconnected the exhaust pipe from the wall. Despite multiple requests with the management company, the dryer was not fixed during our stay. Every trash can had trash inside. Personal hygiene items such as a used razor, feminine hygiene products, loofas, body wash/soap, etc were left out in the open as if recently used. The flimsy dirty soap scummy shower curtain sucks in & sticks to your body as you try to shower. There are photos of a pedophile enabler (Joe Paterno) hanging in the basement. The trash out back was full and overflowing. When reported to management (Friday) they told us WE could take it down the block on Tuesday for pick up. There were dirty tissues around & under the bed. Upon additional complaints at the state of filth, the cleaning fee was eventually waived.We spent our first whole day cleaning & left 3 days early. Our family has been coming to Mt. Gretna for 4 generations. This is the filthiest & most lived in property we've ever had the displeasure of occupying.This is a one bedroom property with a murphy bed at the top of the steps between the bedroom & bathroom & a futon in the mildewy smelly basement. A dehumifier runs constantly in the utility sink while plugged into an electrical outlet on the wall. Staying in this cottage is like staying in somebodys personal home while they're away, with no room for your own basic essentials.
