This saddens me, my husband & I have stayed at this hotel every year on our anniversary for 18 years. Since the motel has been sold its steadly gone down hill. The place was never the best as far as comfort/conviences, but the staff & location made the difference. HOWEVER, since the sale, the facility has gotten more run down, you nolonger get the special treatment for being a returning customer, the hot tub has never been repaired, & the amenities are dissapearing. BEWARE, although the website says pets allowed & NO WHERE does it say anything other than pets accepted, they DO NOT allow cats. Eventhough I made my reservation months in advance, because I let the hotel know via email i would have my elderly cat with us & was happy to pay extra, the motel cancelled my reservation because they tried calling me but couldnt reach me to tell me they dont consider cats a pet. Why didnt I answer my phone? It takes me 4 hours to drive to the hotel. Can't answer the phone when driving. Not only was it horrible that the motel discriminates against cats & don't specify they only take dogs (easy to specify dogs only on the website isn't it?) BUT the way I was treated when i went to check in was mind blowing. The women at the counter was outwright nasty to me. She was defensive and rude the minute I gave my name. She was snotty & cold when i tried to ask what changed & cruel when I started to explain i was a longtime customer that didnt get the msgs. Longtime customer lost now.
