This property might have changed my mind about shared spaces… The property is is a very convenient location close to restaurants and supermarkets and directly across from the train station. The instructions from the staff to get to the hotel from the airport by metro were extremely clear and easy to follow. The train ride was a breeze, we got there in 20 min and the train was clean and cheap. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I didn’t know that the bathrooms were going to be shared and was very nervous about it but they were clean as was the room and other shared areas. The breakfast was included and very good options. You must keep in mind that they have more than one building and no elevators but they can help with the luggage if you ask. Overall it was a great experience with comfy beds and clean spaces.

This property is very well maintained and clean! The room was spacious and the service was wonderful. I didn't know it was a shared bathroom, but luckily there were 2 shared bathrooms and also a toilet separately so it wasn't a hassle as such and everything was clean. The metro station was close by which helped alot! They were kind enough to accomodate a fan for me as my room had a lot of windows. But overall a good place to stay if you are visiting!

As mentioned in other reviews, the property is older and lacks strong soundproofing between rooms. Our room faced the street, so it did get loud a few times. That said, the customer service was excellent—the staff even helped us with our bags during check-in. The breakfast selection was great, and we were pleasantly surprised that snacks were available throughout the day. The bathroom was mostly clean, though the showers could use some attention. One only worked as a handheld due to a broken attachment, and the other drained very slowly. These are very minor issues, though—overall, we had a really good stay.

Located near subway stop however lots of transfer needed to go to tourist areas of Lisbon. Street is very noisy, if you want windows open (because no AC) it’s very loud.

We loved our stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The shared bathroom wasn't an issue at all very clean, and rarely busy. We'd stay again!

Excellent 👌 hotel. This hotel deserve to be classified as a great hotel for multiple of reasons. Beginning with location.iy Is in front of the train station ( Saldahna Station). You get at the hotel by train in about 30 minutes.Very walkable area. A lot of buses take you everywhere. Once you get in the hotel, the staff pay attention to every detailrelated to customer. Wonderful staff , very helpful. Included breakfast very good. Rooms very clean; shared bathrooms impeccable Excellent 👍.

My adult daughter and I stayed for 4 nights in April of 2025. Even though the bathroom was a shared one and down the hall, we didn’t mind a bit as the whole building, including other guests and staff, was so comfortable. We felt very welcome and cared for but still had as much privacy as we wanted. Breakfast in the downstairs lounge was lovely, and our initial reception while checking in was most pleasant. Overall, our experience felt quaint and old-timey which was charming and special. Thank you so much!

Great location and wonderful stay

Such a lovely place in a great central location. Really helpful staff. Substantial buffet style breakfast and the option of a microwave and kitchen facilities for the rest of the time too. Would definitely stay again if in Lisbon.

We had a great stay at Chalet d’Avila! The room was spacious and comfortable and the location was easy to hop on the metro. Breakfast was a highlight and we appreciated the snacks, coffee, and tea that were provided throughout the day. Be aware that if you book the “family room” there is only one double bed and a sofa bed that can be made up. We didn’t realize this and sleeping on the sofa bed wasn’t as comfortable as a real bed. Overall a great stay! The guest house is beautiful and comfortable.

Skeptical about dorm like share....dont worry!

So, very pleasantly surprised. The 100 year old property (or whatever age) is well kept for agebof building. Amenities close by including, grocery, farmacia, restaurant, METRO (directly across fromm street and no changes of line from airport) staff and helpful concierge...even if the shared bathrooms worry you....dont let it /they arenon top of it! Inhave visited homef of friends who didn't have the cleanliness these did. Access to the bathrooms were also plentiful 8 days stay and i didn't wait once. People who are willing to stay in a share facility seem to respect eachother.....and the commitment to cleaning up after themselves. Having a small sitting area and proper mini kitchen was also a perfect space. Bfast good, coffee great, (especially the 24hr acess to the coffee) ...honestly give it a go, I was skeptical
