The location of the property was pretty good, as advertised - easy to get to the Tube, Buses, etc.
However, the apartment has an ANT issue. I have written correspondence (WhatsApp) proving that he confirmed he has problem with ants every year because of the greenery he has on his terrace. My wife even stopped watching TV on the only seating in the small living room area because she kept finding ants on her.
Mind you, I was just letting him know - I NEVER asked for a refund or any form of compensation. Again, he confirmed that he's aware of the problem and asked for pictures. I sent several pictures of ants in several different locations around the kitchen and eating area. I also confirmed that we barely ate there and what snacks we occasionally ate were kept in the refrigerator and the counters were always cleaned. When he saw the pictures, he wrote back apologizing again and offering a refund on one of the days and I gladly accepted and told him that I really appreciated that.
However, about 9 days after we returned home I realized that I had never received this refund he offered. When I wrote him asking if he was still sending the refund, the response I received from him was like I was speaking to an entirely different person. Now he completely denied having an ant problem, accused me of "blackmailing" him (again, I never asked for anything from him), and said VRBO would never post my review even if I posted one.
Strange gentleman, indeed.
