There was 4 of us. We liked the location. The house was very dirty. The sign says take off your shoes but your feet will be filthy after walking on floors and carpet. One guest had a bug bite overnight. I reported the dirty conditions and they offered to send people in to clean while we were using the home. That is not a solution as our time is limited and before is when the house should have been cleaned.

A wonderful family getaway

This is a great place to stay. Clean, spacious, and well stocker with everything you will need for a family vacation. It’s a short walk to the beach and close enough to downtown to walk as well. It’s located in a nice neighborhood that is safe and convenient.

Family weekend getaway

House was just what we needed! Good location, enough rooms, allowed animals. Downside was that it was very surface level clean. It was quite dirty/grimey and needs a really good deep clean/shampoo the carpets or take the carpet out. My nephew is 10 months and when crawling the dirt had come off the carpet/floor onto his clothes in the areas that rubbed the floor. Definitely needs some TLC. Only other thing was the temperature downstairs was pretty cold and had it of been any colder out idk if it would have been manageable/comfortable. Overall good experience, soft beds and nice place to stay

Nice place

Overall it's a nice place. Outdoor patio furniture wasn't clean (mossy), couch very uncomfortable and no TV's in the bedrooms but the house is cute and well laid out. Would suggest soft-white LED lights instead of daylight bulbs since they are stark white.

Perfect house for all of our family. Close to town and had all amenities . Back yard fire pit was fun in the evening. We will choose Whales Tale again next year !

Quiet and Comfortable

This is a comfortable house that is away from the hustle and bustle of town. Short walk to the Discovery Trail and the beach. We enjoyed having the backyard to grill dinner and to allow our dog some freedom.

Great time

I loved it but I think it would be great if you posted how long it takes to walk to the beach that would help grandparents walking with grands. It was lovely. Very quiet neighborhood. Very nice home. Wonderful mangers of property. I was mistaken as to how close it was but it worked out GREAT. We will most likely rent again thanks for the wonderful stay

We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay at the Whale House. Everything was in perfect condition and the fully fenced backyard was a major plus for our dog.

Family Get Away

Our first impression was good, but if you plan on cooking, bring your own pots and pans. The kitchen is poorly stocked. The kitchen was clean though. We were frustrated when it came to showering and towels. There was one wash cloth in the entire house for four adults to share. I texted the management company to see about getting more, but never got a response. Over all, a nice enough house, but we wouldn't stay there again.

It was a very nice house but there was dog hair on the furniture and we had to cover everything up due to allergies. There also needs to be more silverware and dishes for larger groups.

Whale's Tale

Great property -- well-kept, quiet neighborhood with easy access to the beachside trail, and a short drive to the town center and main boardwalk. Plenty of room for two adults and four kids, great open layout for cooking + interacting, and lovely back yard with grill and fire pit (s'mores!!!). We had a fantastic time staying here and would definitely do it again.

My Beach Trip

The house was very clean! There were amidites I didn't expect and was glad to have whether I used them or not. Clean bedding, and having a nice washer & dryer was great. Here was my only downfall. Only one TV and it was a Ruko. I'm an Xfinity person so trying to find the programs I watch was very hard if not impossible. However the worst part was we had kids that don't watch what we watch and a small seating area living room made that difficult. I suggest a second tv be added to the downstairs spare room would have made a big difference. The second major issue to us was NO PARKING on the street, where there was cars parked on the street. The guy that was directly across the street from us parked his jeep directly in front of our driveway and that made it difficult to back out a truck. We drive trucks. We did fit our smaller vehicles in the 2 car garage. We all traveled down separately because we all work different hours. and were not able to condence that. Lastly, the windy beaches really put a damper on the kids enjoying the beach. So would we rent a house at Long Beach again? No. Next year its lake from property. Sorry Long Beach.

Great place

Great house for my family and another family to stay out. Fenced in yard for the dog was great. The area was a little out of the way from downtown, but a great location for a quick walk to the beach. We'd definitely stay again.

Not What was Promised....

We were really looking forward to have a family outing in January in Long Beach and this was our first time visiting Long Beach. Before choosing this site we had reviewed all the other sites and yes we knew that had been thing broken before with other visitors to the home but after four months we assumed they had been repaired. The rental was dirty when we arrived and we just wiped things down such as dirt on doors and toilets, But the total misrepresentation of their rental is that there was a working desk and printer, we asked the management and they said they had removed it from their site but it was never removed anything, the fireplace not working or having a enclosed fenced yard it is still on the VRBO website as of today. Not before or even after we left and we notified them. Three of our family members work from home. We had issues with the space heaters because they would pop the fuses when turned on and it was 18 degrees when we got there and the bottom floors does not heat up with the forced air just the upstairs so it was cold. We notified the management but they said only that they would send someone to repair the fence gate that would not shut but they didn't come either. The toilet and the bathtub backed up during our stay. They charged for our dogs but everything was damaged by other dogs such as the sofa, carpet, and two sliding door screens were ripped up. Very disappointed and we really like Long Beach.

Kite Festival Stay

We came for for Kite Festival. This was a last minute booking in March. We snatched it up asap as we were told this area is booked out really early. House was nice and clean. We had a great time.

Very nice summer house

We found that the house was comfortable for a family stay. It had many nice touches. Great for kids and pets. Wonderful location. Quiet neighborhood. Not far from beach. Long Beach is a lovely vacation spot. There are many historic markers and notable spots from the Lewis & Clark expedition. The beach is also known for kites. The property was fairly well maintained but needs more attention to the details. 2 of the bedrooms had no where to unpack clothing except hang on hangers. The backyard is not escape proof. The master bath toilet was backing up. The Property mgr brought over a plunger. Towel rack in master bath was not anchored on wall. Shower in master bath tub didn't work. Master bedroom lamp did not work. The IKEA foam mattresses left me achy. The bed frame had amateurish repair. The backyard grill needs to be replaced. It is clean but looks unsafe. We did not use the grill. The propane tank was empty.
