The rental is not a house but an apartment. The complex is not great and smells odd. That said, the space was clean enough and more or less as described. The parking structure is a challenge to find and a nuisance to get to.Details to access the unit and parking were not proactively provided, so I had to request the information. After some interaction with the property manager, the representative became unresponsive and very difficult to reach. Unfortunately, two of the three climate control remotes and television remotes were not working. There were just enough, but no extra pillows, blankets, towels etc. No facial tissues or cleaning supplies other than dish washing liquid were available.
The apartment was quite serviceable. All appliances worked well. A/C worked wellin bedrooms but less well in living room/kitchen area. The unit was mostly clean except for some dust/dead insect in corner of one bedroom, mold on shower curtain, and floor peeling up in bathroom.
The directions were lacking for parking... the access was puzzling because of one-way streets and a dead end alley. Specific instructions would have been greatly appreciated.
This part of Alhambra/Monterey Park/East LA is pretty old and charmless, with the apartment building facing the I-10 freeway wall on the North and a run down 1930s motel on the South.
I messaged the host about concerns regarding the listing and the host fixed my problems right away and also allowed me to stay another day for free. I would definitely stay here again in the future itâs a nice place!
