Staff was courteous and friendly. Lobby was nice. Rooms were a little dark. It’s a small boutique hotel with walking distance to sawtelle and restaurants. We unfortunately arrived when protests were happening around LA area and they were understaffed but still did their best! Highly recommend it.

Very strange business model

I’m really not sure what customer this place is trying to appeal to. There was nothing wrong with the place, but for the price point I expected something more. The whole place had a sort of ‘we don’t want to look like we’re trying too hard’ vibe which is really conceptually at odds with the hospitality business. Rooms are clean and functional, but just had sort of a ‘I’m staying at a hostel’ vibe… not really what I had hoped for at $300/night.

Good value for hotel quality and location!

Location was central to US passport center, UCLA, west LA and Santa Monica / beach. All within 15-20 minutes or less driving time. Room was super clean, decent size, and conveniently located across the street from 7-11 for snacks and drinks as well as some fast and casual dining nearby within walking distance. Room contained a fridge and safe. Lobby saff were friendly but not warm or super friendly so I get some of the comments but always accommodating as needed like getting extra towels. House keepers however were very warm, super friendly, accommodating. Last, while not a bother to me, noise outside, above and next door were louder than expected, however, they do provide ear plugs in the room.

We stayed in this hotel last week for four nights and decided to come back yesterday to stay here for another night (Sunday). A girl checked us in (asked for driver’s license etc) and gave us two room keys. In the very early morning, we were awaken by heavy pounds on our door someone before 8am and we thought some drunk perso did so by mistake. Shortly after, a hotel person knocked again and even opened the door with his key. It was very frightening to us that someone tried to enter our room! Luckily we had the metal piece latched and he didn’t succeed. He claimed that we didn’t checked in! I swear that it was so terrifying to us! We called the front desk and was told that we didn’t check in, which was clearly untrue. What an unacceptable behavior! I could not describe how much we were so scared.

The hotel is ok. Checkin guy was nice. Laundry machines are run by a separate company and you need a us phone number. Didn't matter as they didn't work anyway. Room was ok, beds comfy enough. Aircon kept making a loud buzz even though it was switched off, which meant zero sleep. Complained and got the usual brush off.
