I’ve resubmitted my review several times. Why is it being rejected now for the third or more time? These people are lying pieces of garbage to the point of creating deep fake videos to slander people. The Freehand has a human trafficking problem and everything else that goes with it. The beds are uncomfortable, the front lobby closes at 10pm, most electric plugs don’t work, kitchen is unsanitary Petri dish.
Uncomfortable beds. Lobby closes at 10pm, and most the electric outlets don’t work. Outlets inside rooms sometimes don’t work. Potential human trafficking with prostitutes from all over the world. Hard pass.
We really enjoyed staying at Freehand in DTLA. It’s located in a historic building so the rooms have an old school vibe to them. We stayed in a corner room and it was so spacious with beautiful, massive windows (I’m a natural light girlie). We did have a small hiccup where our room was very cold and the heater was not working very well - we communicated that to them and they were kind enough to switch us to another room.
Bathrooms were very clean and were stocked up accordingly.
I’d def stay here again.
The Freehand offers the appearance of style and luxury without the substance of it. The curtains don’t cover the windows. The kitchen/lounge space is a depressing fluorescent lit basement room with no windows or stove. The worst was that they offered me, a white lady, a free coffee card but not to my black friend. Despite Los Angeles being in a desert, they chose shower heads that deluge you and waste so much water. It all left a sour taste.
The staff where amazing, the bars where great and drinks where great I just overall had an amazing time here for the 4 days I was here and room service was timely and courteous if you need a place to rest your head that's affordable and respectful of you I'd recommend it.
