The Howard Hardy house was outstanding! The pictures do not do it justice - it was much more spacious and comfortable in person. We celebrated a 21st birthday and a 61st birthday on the trail. The house was perfect for the 4 married couples and the 4 single young men. Plenty of room for all to congregate together, but also everyone had their own space when desired. All the distilleries and restaurants we wanted to go to were walkable from the house so no one had to drive. Location was great, but all downtown Louisville was rough. No problems walking around in the morning, but late afternoon and into the evening would have been scary alone or with just a few. We were fine because of all the young strong men in our group. Once we were back in the house for the night we felt secure with all the different locking mechanisms provided. Everyone slept great with the noise machines and very comfortable beds. The heating and air units were top notch - sometimes in a historic building this is not the case, but after experiencing how well they controlled the climate indoors I may purchase one for my own home. This truly is the coolest house in Louisville with so much character but all the modern conveniences. I hope the city addresses some of its issues soon, but in the meantime, the homeowner has done much to insure a pleasant stay in what would otherwise be a 5-star location and neighborhood. Would absolutely book this again.
