We had a spectacular experience the area was welcoming with walkable shopping, restaurants, and bars. The room was clean and felt as if you were stepping back in time with modern charm and amenity's. 10/10 love this place my wife and I had a wonderful time.
Great location, central to a lot of activities, restaurants and distilleries. We were very happy with everything. To minor items to be aware of: the water pressure in the shower is very weak, so if you have long hair like my wife it takes a while to get all the shampoo out. The other item is the parking. The lot is not very big, and is used by several businesses, so the lot fills quickly and sometimes is difficult to find a spot, and the street parking feels up quickly as well. Overall, we loved our stay and will be back.
This property was perfect for a long weekend in the Louisville area. My husband and I enjoyed being able to grab a snack or drink nearby. The offstreet parking was great. There was a little noise from festivities nearby at night but nothing that kept us awake
pack light because it is on the second floor and thereâs no elevator, but otherwise property was adorable. I would definitely rent it again.
Spacious loft in the heart of everything Nulu. Lots of bars, shops, restaurants right there and walkable to downtown, waterfront, Big Four bridge, etc. Owner is very responsive. Access/check-in/out was a breeze. Definitely recommend.
The loft is spacious and cozy. Exactly as described. Communications with Eric was great. He made checkin seamless. Communication was great. The location is perfect. So much to do right around the unit. We never got in our car once. Would definitely stay there again. Construction is very loud in the mornings but a previous reviewer suggested a sound machine. Thatâs what we brought and it helped. This is temporary and will go away in time.
Wonderful stay. Eric was so very kind & super easy to work with. The apartment was stunning & in the heart of everything. 2 lovely working fireplaces, amazing windows, fully stocked kitchen...we were missing nothing other than wanting to stay longer. Thank you Eric!
Great location and so nice to be walkable to so much. The space was very clean and the property manager was very quick to respond and helpful! The space had everything we needed during our stay. One thing to note, you may want to pack a sound machine! It is very close to a main street as well as some businesses that stay open late. Great space close to some restaurants and Whiskey row - overall very much enjoyed our stay!
The property was wonderful, exactly as advertised. The rooms are very spacious and everything was exceptionally clean. The large jetted tub in the bathroom was a nice bonus. My wife and I love the Nulu area, so the location could not have been better. We loved our stay here and would definitely come back. Check in/out was easy and well communicated. The only tiny negative was the amount of construction noise during the daytime. The noise was not a dealbreaker though and actually a good sign for how the Nulu area is growing!
You can wander the neighborhood, walk downtown, visit Cavehill cemetery and the little Phoenix Hill stops.
It is easy access to airport too. It is right in Main St so the weekday traffic starts early.
Great communication w the management.
Easy to find and check-in process was easy. Property manager sent check-in procedures in plenty of time and checked in with us.
The space is just as described. Itâs spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. We only used the fridge in the kitchen, so I canât speak to the amenities there. The bathroom is huge: large open area when you walk in, nice jacuzzi tub, separate shower, two separate sinks/counters/mirrors, and the toilet is behind another door. Bed and pillows were comfy enough.
The neighborhood is fun and within walking distance to many restaurants and some coffee shops. Itâs about a half mile from Slugger Field.
The property manager was super easy to reach.
Iâd recommend this spot for anyone visiting Louisville.
This was a great place to stay for our short stay in Louisville. The apartment was beautiful and just as described. The area was perfect- very close to downtown and just about all the places we wanted to go to. There were some cute bars and shops next door and a great coffee shop just down the street. Parking was limited, but we were always able to find a spot. The property owners were responsive when we had a minor issue and made sure it was fixed in a timely fashion. We really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again.
Excellent location! The place is adorable. Exposed brick, hardwood floors. Extremely clean! We have stayed in many VRBO properties and this was by far the cleanest we have ever stayed in. Linens and towels were plush, not like those found in most rentals. Communication with owners was outstanding. We can't say enough good things about this place. Thank you Eric and Wayne. We will be back. Lynn & Lori
Had an awesome weekend at âThe Old Fashioned!â The place is beautiful and such a great location. Stocked with everything you need and more! Near many places to eat and shop. The managers were very attentive and went above and beyond making sure we were comfortable. This place will be on our list of places to come back to in the future!
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and we absolutely loved the place! The property was gorgeous, super clean, nice and quite and in an amazing location (my husband was also a huge fan of the urinal in the bathroom). We were walking distance to so many great shops, restaurants and bars! We loved being able to walk right downstairs and grab a beer at West 6th; we wish the Seltzer place next door would have been opened, but now we just have another reason to come back. Eric and Wayne were very helpful, check in and out was easy and they even checked in to make sure we were having a good time! I can't wait to go back and will definitely being staying here or next door in the Kentucky Mule next time with some friends!
First of all, this location in the middle of a very transitional area of Louisville is quite eclectic. Although there were very pertinent things not mentioned in the VRBO description (ie) there is a 2 story walk up to the front door, active retail construction taking place beside the location that i think would be helpful for those with small kids and/or leg injuries. These annoyances were quickly overcame by the proactiveness of the PM team. Although I was in town for work, I was in close proximity to everything that mattered in this particular city.
I would stay there again under the pretense that there will be constant noise througout the night, but overall a nice stay.
We enjoyed our stay at the old fashioned and the place was HUGE! The host communicated well and we did enjoy our short time in Louisville. We really liked the location and parking in the NuLu Marketplace parking lot was easy and it is also safe (you can see several video cameras around as well). If we came back to Louisville, we would stay here again.
My husband and I needed an escape for a week to recharge. We loved the location and the property was just as advertised. Being able to walk to really neat shops and restaurants was a lot of fun, a nice change from our suburban routine. Lots different types of food to try, lots of adult beverages to sample. Itâs hard to feel like youâre missing out on much in NuLu. Drove to some of the older parts of downtown to take in the scenery and the parks. All-in-all a lovely place to recharge.
My husband and I just returned from a fantastic stay in Louisville. We are frequent renters, but had never been to Louisville and this has to be one of our favorite rentals ever. First of all, communication with the owner was great. The rental itself exceeded all expectations. It was located at the top of the stairs next to a beautiful mural. We found it to be a charming loft space with exposed brick, floor to ceiling windows, hardwood floors, fireplaces and beautiful decor. The place was so much larger than we had envisioned. The kitchen was roomy and modern with a gas stove and stainless appliances. There was also a washer and dryer. We appreciated the extras like tea, coffee and all the kitchen supplies needed to cook meals. The bathroom was spacious with a jacuzzi tub and two separate areas with a sink and extra counter space. The rental was in close proximity to bars and restaurants as it was next to the NuLu Marketplace, in fact the parking is shared with Marketplace customers. We enjoyed Emmy Squared pizza both nights we were there. (Try the Nashville Hot Chicken pizza.) Our tour with Rabbit Hole Distillery was just about a block away. It is also close enough to walk to the waterfront and walk across the pedestrian bridge for a view of the city. This area is an up and coming area and we enjoyed it immensely. We hope to return to this rental another year on the way back from our daughter's home in Nashville to our home in Michigan.
