This is a Guets house set up as a Charity for Veterans. The whole place brreds "soldiers" - A superb historical venue, strategically placed by the sea front. Good breakfast.
Quirkily excellent. On arrival it is not obviously a hotel since it says it is a retreat for ex services. But they do operate as an hotel, so that is the first step. Then you find it to be full of memorabilia for all branches of the service, good breakfast though not till 8am, no evening meals, but short walks bring you to good food.
Smooth check in, very quiet but out of season. I was there for work so missed the breakfast unfortunately but everything was ideal and comfortable for a few night stay.
It was so close to everything we needed, it was clean and comfortable & the staff could not have been more lovely and welcoming. We will definitely be going back!
We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay here. Situated in a beautiful seaside town, this classic hotel was filled with history and character. The staff was exceptional, and the breakfast was first rate. Our stay was peaceful, quiet, and comfortable. We would recommend this hotel and would very happily stay again.
A great place to stay for a short break. Close to the beach and a short walk to shops and bars. Good breakfast. Comfortable room although the mattress probably needs to be replaced (Room 3). Wonderful military decor and history pictures.
Nice welcome and pretty everything you could need in the room, but the bathroom was very dated for the price of the room (although shower worked well). Was advertised as Twin or Double, but found it was left as twin for single occupancy.
