We absolutely loved staying at The Perch and look forward to staying here again. The cabin itself was perfect for us and the location on the river cant be beat! We enjoyed seeing the heron and osprey while out in the canoe as well as each day from the comfort of the two rocking chairs and hammock near the river!
It is a small rustic home in a secluded bend of the river the views from the roof deck are gorgeous. The home is simple and has had some water damage over the years. I would recommend bringing bottled watered for the well water smells like river water. My wife and myself enjoyed the peace and seclusion and would consider staying there again.
My husband and I got this cabin as a getaway. The location was great, there were neighbors on either side but the fence and foliage makes it feel pretty private. The cabin felt a little more aged than the photos showed and unfortunately We didnt get to use the hot tub, it had some stuff in the water. Otherwise it served us ok for what we were looking for.
The best escape that we could use have hoped for! Beautiful views and songbird symphonies in the morning. Had sunshine and a thunderstorm to enjoy, couldnât have been a better stay!
A wonderful little A-frame style cabin located right along a bend in the Shenandoah River and just 20 minutes from Luray! It was the perfect little weekend getaway spot to disconnect for a while and enjoy nature.
Great getaway with 2 adults, tween and child. There was enough room for all. The nook was a hit with the kids. The area was very quiet and relaxing. It snowed while we were there and the roads were plowed fast. House was very clean and well stocked. There was plenty of cookware and spices available. Would definitely come back.
The river, the cabin, everything was perfect. Me and my girlfriend came for a weekend away and we enjoyed it so much. The property manager was super nice quick to respond and was very understanding and met and exceeded all our expectations and needs. Will be back.
Had a great time and made great family memories while enjoying the peace and quiet, and the beautiful fall weather on the Shenandoah river. The Perch provided the perfect cozy, quiet and relaxing spot for our family to unwind and enjoy nature!
Great stay for a peaceful weekend getaway. Very clean and cozy cabin with wonderful views and plenty of amenities to stay busy. Will definitely make recommendations and a return visit.
The Perch was everything listed on the description! We enjoyed sitting down by the water, a fire in the fire pit and the hot tub. It was a bit of a drive from where we hiked, but it was well worth it for the views of the water.
Itâs a remote and beautiful location on the river. We stayed two nights and spent the days in Shenandoah National Park. The late afternoons/evenings next to the river were peaceful and relaxing, and using the fire pit is a great end to a day of outdoor activity. The upstairs bed was very comfortable.
Cozy place and beds were comfy but the smoke alarm woke us up at 530 and there was no fire! Someone sprayed the lattice work at the bottom of the house and didnât check to see what was behind it so the canoe kayak and paddles all had white paint splatters on them.WiFi was horrible tried to get a fishing license online and couldnât or get a txt out. Some spots in the screened in porch need to be sealed and this would cut down on the amount of bugs entering this area too.Cars went very fast on the road in front of the house also!
Perfect sized house with adorable loft areas and rooftop porch. Nice fire pit and river access! Make sure the water is high enough before booking a stay that you plan on kayaking
We throughly enjoyed our stay at the perch. The location next to the river is great and the weather was wonderful. Itâs only 30 min. from Shenandoah NP. However, the house is not as nice as it appears online. Itâs old, with sulfur smelling water that turns everything yellow. In the fall, stink bugs swarm and baseball size fruit falls from 30 ft high all around. Itâs a cute unique cabin though and we liked it, but I did feel it was overpriced for the condition it is in.
