Good hotel but at extortionate price

Pros: Room was very clean and had a bath.

Location: See above. I was in the city for a football match. Not a bad place to get sent by your work on business I suspect, but not somewhere for long holidays
Luxembourg is a lovely city. This hotel is located in the "roughest" part of the city apparently, but you would feel safer there than in an average part of most European cities. That being said, prostitution seems to be legal here, and there is a brothel right across the road and down a bit from this hotel. Some travellers might not think that is a bad thing, but I am not sure how the hotel can justify charging over £100 per night considering it is clearly not suitable for all. The girls outside the brothel weren't harassing passers by as they do in some cities, and there didn't appear to be any drug dealing on the street, but what unnerved me was the fact the hotel reception was left un-manned most of the time, even when I arrived back at 10pm at night. I just walked in through the automatic doors and into the lift. Presumably any visitor to the brothel could have did the same. Or even the hookers..

hello dear Mr John we apreciating your feed back wee just whant to inform you that the hotel is open 24h 7/7 and there is always somme one behind the reception because there are the control cameras but if you ring at the reception he will show up also if they notice some supection persons the window behind the reception you can not see truh olny who is bihind can see thats how work the recption at the night any ways we apreesiate very your fedd back and wish you a grate day best regards Rodrigues A.

cheap hotel right next to the train station...

Pros: the staff and proximity to train station
Cons: noisy at night, seedy neighborhood
Location: near train station and the pick up for the hop on hop off buss
You get what you pay for. Gross part of town, lots of strip clubs and seedy at night. As I was only in town for 24 hrs a cheap place to stay was all I was looking for. However, as I had my young son with me, I would've paid the extra £30 to stay at a nicer place in retrospect. Small room, not terribly modern, but clean and everything worked. The staff was super friendly and breakfast was included. They were even kind enough to hold our bags for the day after we checked out and their restaurant is open all day - good for people that can't wait until 6pm for other restaurants to open. So, a very nice group of people but not a great neighborhood to walk through if you are a lady on your own.

The whole room wasn't really clean. The bed was full with hairs, even in the bathroom were a lot of hairs. Fortunately they changed the sheets very quick and without any noize. At least, I paid way to much for this hotel. Even the area wasn't really nice, I could hear the bars the whole night!
