Our stay was lovely. We were given the wrong room, as we had booked a triple but got a double instead, but the room was so nice it wasn’t an issue. The hallways to the rooms were quite run down and could do with some love, however the room itself was gorgeous, with a sea view, comfy bed and spacious bathroom. There is limited parking available too

We had a family room up on the top floor. It was so cosy and quirky and huge. The whole hotel had a beautiful ambience it felt so Christmassy with all the lights and the trees all very tastefully done. The staff was super friendly. We cannot wait to come back

The Royal Lion we couldnt fault, Beautiful setting, in a beautiful town. Dont agree at all with NO CASH PAYMENTS.. That apparently is due to no local bank, or post iffice for the banking!??? But ime sure the many other shops and pubs ,restaurants that took cash are happy with that arrangement. If the public who PAY THE LIONS bills after all decide to pay cash thats up to us! I felt a negative also with being pushed for full payment of our xmas day lunch £220 3 weeks before xmas. After all if we werent haooy with the service abd meal , we woukd taje it up at tgat moment at the table, and pay what both oarties agreed. Cant do that if all ready paid! The food and service was perfect tho. Also they nearly lost our booking when i rang to book in for xmas day lunch.. . A .I. Wasnt good, the automated Voice of POLLY, who couldnt understand that we were already booked in to the hotel for 4days , and wanted to book for xmas day lunch... was totally confused, and had eventually pass us on to CAROL A REAL PERSON ! Who was excellent , But i was on the verge what with the no cash thing of cancelling ! We spent over £1k in the end !

The pool, sauna & jacuzzi were definitely the highlights for me. It's also so nice to be minutes away from the seafront to enjoy watching the sunrise as well as a walk in the night to observe the beautiful Christmas lights.

Loved our stay here! Location was the main perk. Our room wasn’t quite ready on our arrival so we got a complementary drink in the bar. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of selection. Great service throughout! We also made full use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna which was a real plus!! Just book your slot and you get it all to yourselves. We only stayed one night, would love to stay longer next time!
