This historic home has been updated to be a comfortable place to stay in central Lynchburg. My family group of 4 fit comfortably in the home, although it was a tight squeeze for my 6' tall teen to fit on the bunk beds in the smallest bedroom. The only drawbacks to our stay were road noise from cars (and emergency vehicles) going by in the middle of the night, and the need to leave early on Sunday morning so we weren't using the parking space in the church lot.
This property was perfectly situated just blocks away from the heart of downtown Lynchburg and the river/trails! It was decorated so cute with all the amenities needed for a cross country trip! We would definitely come back here!
For our group of 3 it was both more affordable and more comfortable than any hotel. We awoke well rested and in the morning we easily walked to a crepes restaurant for breakfast. It was very cozy. I had the thought that this would be a perfect place to quietly work on a writing project. Just what we needed!
The house was beautiful and just what we needed. There wasnât a hair dryer for my wife like it said there was, but that was the only mishap. There was a used coffee pod left in the other bowl of pods. The neighborhood was a bit sketchy. First night for over thirty minutes at 11:30 at night there was an old drunk guy screaming profanities up and down the street. Last night we had police presence right down the road and then heard five more with lights and sirens fly right by the house up the street. Other than the sketchy neighborhood, the stay was what we needed. The thermostat is also quite aggravating and would reset itself. I woke up last night to it not staying at the temp I set and it was only 61.
We booked this location for me and my wedding party to stay and get ready at for my big day. The house was lovely (I am personally obsessed with the hardwood floors and the kitchen). The space was perfect for getting ready and catching up with each other.
I only advise visitors to bring a few extra blankets, especially if you plan on utilizing the pull-out couch. It gets pretty chilly at night and there weren't a lot of spare blankets. Finding extra parking on 14th was also a little tricky; some of us had to park wayyy down the street. Other than that, asbolutely great!
My husband, myself and our adult children and spouses needed a home away from home for my nieceâs wedding event. We always enjoy homes with character. This was spot on. Beautiful very clean and near a lot of historic places. While we didnât do a lot of cooking everything was places very well and we could have. The bedrooms were spacious and even the tiny bunk bed room served a great purpose. Thank you for the organized and beautiful weekend to compliment our stay!
Large size home, parking convenient (thankfully not on the busy street), walkway to get in really needs to be better (a couple pavers when it is raining are difficult and messy to navigate; also difficult to navigate and unsafe for elderly guests), back steps are very steep (difficult to manage for elderly guests), main 2 bedrooms are comfortable, would not recommend twin beds for anyone other than very small children (top bunk okay but bottom bunk is very close quarters!), clean, instructions on how to navigate heating/cooling would be nice (house was a little warm at 75). Overall better than a hotel offering good space and giving ability to cook.
House was beautifully decorated, clean and had everything we needed! Perfect location to downtown and plenty of room for 8 of us. Property manager was VERY responsive! Would absolutely visit again! Thank you â€ïž
We had a terrific experience. This vintage house is beautiful. Everything is first class and well done. The owners were very accommodating and went above and beyond typical VRBO hosts. Will stay again in the future.
This charming home was a comfortable, calm refuge during our very busy visit to Lynchburg. The beds were cozy, the place spotless, and the downstairs shower was heavenly! So many great places within walking distance-and easy access to the expressway. We felt safe the entire time and grateful for the Diamond Hill retreat
Graduation and Motherâs Day weekend were the occasions for a few days In Lynchburg. The cute house on Grace street made it wonderful for everyone. The kitchen was well appointed, the beds were comfy, the neighborhood was a great place to walk and see sights. Plus we all enjoyed the front porch. My only caution is if youâre traveling with an elderly person. My MIL struggled with the steps going into the house. Also I would only consider using the bunk room for kids. The beds looked great but the room is pretty small. The other 2 bedrooms were quite large. We would definitely stay here again. The hosts were great. We loved it!
My family and I stayed at this property. The check in was super easy and Anna was very quick to respond. The property was clean and spacious. I would definitely stay again.
Diamond Hill Place is a great house to stay in while in Lynchburg, and I plan to book it again in the future. The property owners have thought of everything to extend warm hospitality. The house is super clean and updated, but all of the historic charm of the house is still there. The location is great, in beautiful Diamond Hill, and an easy walk to downtown and all the restaurants, etc. I really enjoyed my stay in this home.
