The room itself was perfectly fine for an older style motel. Didn't realise it was literally right next to the train line so really loud, my fault for not checking. Take earplugs and you should be ok though. The lady at check was so surprisingly rude to us! She was agitated and carrying on about how they don't accept Expedia bookings and then just walked away. There was a sign saying they don't accept basically any 3rd party bookings. We didn't know if we even had a booking at all after that. There were other people waiting to check in too and we all just looked at each other in disbelief. She came back a while later, took payment (for the booking we apparently couldn't have made lol) and then handed us the keys. We walked away wondering why she was so cold and rude to us for booking online. Maybe there was language miscommunication of some sort, either way, no need to be that rude to someone for no apparent reason.
The receptionist indicated that they donât associate with online platforms for bookings. Interesting as I had a confirmation via wotif.
She claimed to have tried to call me the day before twice to advise my booking was invalid. No calls missed.
Luckily she had vacancies so honoured the booking.
After 10 hours of driving, this is the last thing I needed.
Whatever happened to customer service?
On arrival was greeted rudely by reception. Room was not cleaned properly. Hair in the shower drain. Beds were terribly uncomfortable.
Overall a very average experience. Rooms are over priced. Will not be staying again.
The lady was so arrogant. I booked online and she says nope and left 2 kids and i woth no where to stay and wouldnt give my money back. Absolutely appalling. Someone so arrogant should not be allowed to work with people. Like agressive dogs muzzle it.
Greeted very rudely and told Expedia was banned. Offered to leave after full refund and she then gave us a room key. Not pleasant.
On the plus side, it was clean. Coffee etc. Bed was comfortable.
Very loud at night with sugar cane trains all night plus trucks on highway.
This is my very first negative review and I am sad to post this. I would not recommend this motel. There are others in the town further from the train tracks and hopefully kinder staff.
Unfortunately each room had a strange odour, unit 1 the TV did not function, we were then transferred to unit 9 same odour and TV problem, the owner did attempt to satisfy our needs and was very attentive, we decided to move on to another motel. Pet Friendly Motels we will avoid at all costs in the future!
We booked through Wotif, arrived at the property to be told by the owner that she doesn't deal with Wotif and wouldn't accept our booking.She said to cancel that booking and to rebook direct with her. We did not want to cancel as the money was non refundable. It was very late to start looking for alternate accommodation so we rebooked direct with her, now to get our refund from Wotif.
Shockingly rude staff on checkin, blaming Expedia and us for not having our booked and paid room available. Apparently we shouldâve called to confirm our room! One of us had to sleep on very thin mattress on the floor.
