The first room they assigned us had a do not disturb on the door and bed unmade. The 2nd room only able to go to 3rd floor on elevator and walk up stairs for the rest of way. Was not given clear info on ferry and ended up having to pay extra 18.00 to park car and was told they would have picked us up at hotel! As a result we missed the ferry we wanted to go on due to having to go to another lot to park and then being picked up there! Would not recommend this at all. Needs maintenance bathroom tv didn't work and plugs were very suspect and wobbly. Bathroom light wouldn't come on at times. Internet was unstable and kept dropping.

Overall, I would rate this hotel somewhere between poor and OK. The hotel could use some remodeling and a good cleaning. Several items need to be repaired in our room. Broken lamps and burn out light bulbs made the room very dark. We a nice walk in shower however, the shower curtain did not fit and caused water to leak all over the bathroom floor. No shelves in the shower so you had to store you soap and shampoo on the floor. The staff was very unfriendly and for the most part not knowledgeable about the surrounding area or restaurants. Pleasantly surprised to find that they did make your bed, remove trash, and replaced dirty linen on a daily basis.

As I was sitting in the parking lot of Hamilton Inn, I went to Travelocity website to put in my dates of stay which was that night I put in the 20th and 21 September Friday night to Saturday. I get a text message saying welcome congratulations blah blah blah. You are now scheduled for the 21st and 22 September that was not correct. I called the front desk sitting in the parking lot to correct it I did not go into the lobby because I was trying to do this immediately and they will not cancel it nor give my money back and so I did not stay at the Hamilton M. I had to go across the street to another hotel. I called Ralph Travelocity, and they could see that I was trying to correct it and they called the manager of the hotel Hamilton to know avail.

Room was clean minus hair being all over the bathroom. For $150 room I expect it to be spotless. Check-in was difficult waited for at least 20 minutes just to be told that my room wasn’t ready for some reason even though check in was at 4pm and it was almost 5pm. Breakfast was okay. Very busy because there is also a bus full of old “privileged “ white people who are just complaining about everything. Just stay at home and buy your own juice and food if you’re going to complain. Lastly, it would have been an absolute wonderful stay if it wasn’t for all these old people feeding the seagulls causing them to be loud fly all over the “beach” area and totally take the peace out of sitting on the balcony. Never again.

For the price I paid, this was a great stay. A waterfront room in Mackinac for under $100 is wild! Everything was dated but comfortable, so while it doesn’t have the greatest look in the world, I slept very well in my room with the sound of the waves outside. Free hot breakfast was better than most. Staff was extremely kind and courteous with me, though I did overhear some terse conversations with others, so I can understand the shaky reviews in service. Overall, I would probably be fairly unhappy if I’d paid $200 for this room, but for what I paid, I’m ecstatic with my stay. I should add that I was a woman traveling alone and felt perfectly safe in the space as well.
