Freezing cold when we arrived, only having access to oil heaters meant that it took over 24hrs before the bnb was somewhat comfortable. Screaming baby the entire first night. Tripping hazards on the walkway to the back entrance. Wish I could get a refund.
The suite is nice and well equipped. The way into the suite via the yard needs serious improvement. It is definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility challenges. The way from the driveway to the gate needs drastic improvement both for ease of walking and carrying luggage. A sensor light needed to illuminate this part. Past the gate to the patio a smooth level walk is needed.
Clean place with comfy beds and adequate kitchen. However, only feather bedding (we have allergies to feathers); only a timer on the fireplace that we could come trip and no other independent heating source; noisy floor upstairs. Inexpensive and adequate for sure. Good communication with owner.
The bed sheets are wearn and it made my sister itch all night The bed tips over when she tries to get of the bed.The other bed is too hard. They didn't get a good sleep either.
A very clean and well-kept basement unit with in-suite laundry, close to Pitt Lake and Golden Ears, and hosted by a very friendly and responsive owner.
We had a lovely 3 night stay while visiting family in the area. Winnie was absolutely lovely, and even offered to have her husband install a fan in the window during a heat wave. Everything was clean and comfortable, and we all canât wait to visit again!! Thank you for everything!
The host Wing is very responsive and friendly. For sure there is constant communication and will answer your questions right away. The house/unit location is about an hour away from downtown Vancouver and all the sights. It's a quiet neighborhood if you want the suburban feel. There is a kitchen so we were able to cook our breakfast which saved us money from eating out.Overall, I would recommend staying at Wing's place!
Pros:
Convenient location

Side entrance steep
Fence door could use TLC
Cons:
Bad carpet finishings
Poor property maintenance
Towels/face cloths are stained
3 large spiders were found
Entrance to stay sketchy looking(not in pictures)
Loud upstairs tenants
This also is personal preferences Iâve noticed. Everyone is different and expect different hospitalities.
This property was clearly advertised as ENTIRE HOME twice on the home page. VRBO itself advertises that you get the ENTIRE HOME. This was a basement suite.
Booked for 3 guests, MUCH more suited to 1 or 2 guests MAX.
Access to the backyard entry was unsafe at best. There were stairs leading to the back yard that included a rock as the top step and uneven depths of the subsequent steps. The gate did not open entirely due to hitting stepping stones of the pathway. The pathway ended and then there were roots sticking up from the ground. For us 3 seniors (one with a cane) it was nasty navigation but especially with our suitcases.
Suite was advertised as a 2 bedroom unit when in fact it was one bedroom and the 2nd bed was situated in the "living room". Absolutely no privacy with the 2nd bed. The "living room" was taken up with the bed so the 2 seater futon pushed up against the wall was the ONLY seating. The mattress on it was an inch thick. Highly uncomfortable.
The kitchen was further disappointing. The dining table had only 2 seats. Although there were ample plates, there was only one cooking pot, only 3 knives and only 2 drinking glasses. Clearly this unit did not support the 4 people that were invited to sleep there. In the bathroom, we were supplied with 3 bath towels for the 6 days. No hand towels or facecloths.
Laundry facilities as advertised were not found.
It was a VERY disappointing stay and we could not recommend this unit to anyone, especially seniors.
