The property has potential but needs
A lot of maintenance and upgrades. Also wasnât very clean. In addition since they do not participate of hawks cay resort program you canât enjoy the area. I stayed in this area and other owners are part of the program so you can enjoy the amenities around
The rental was very clean but with some minor cosmetic issues such as a cracked toilet, poor paint, etc., but it is a rental after all. Parking was an issue. The property listing stated that we would have two reserved parking spaces for our unit, however we did not. When I called Vacasa they told me that parking was on a first come first serve basis and overflow parking was 0.8 miles down the road and we would have to walk back. I donât think parking a mile from your villa is acceptable on vacation. Seems like they should paint the villa numbers on the parking spaces in front of the villas so everyone knows where to park. The stovetop light would not turn off indicating that the stovetop was on and hot even though we did not use the stove. I had to call Vacasa again about the stove and was sent about five steps to check the stove. Iâm not a repairman and didnât want to troubleshoot a stove on my vacation. Also, the door code that we were given at check-in did not work. We had to call Vacasa for assistance, but the code never worked. We had to use the lockbox where the actual key was and use it the entire time. The code never worked the entirety of our stay.
we stayed for three nights after checking in the first night. I contacted the property manager, and he came the next day to fix the shower that was completely clogged wouldnât drain, said he had to fix everything else once I checked out. The toilet paper holder was broken and not even painted, the master bed was broke. It was dirty. The doors need to be painted. The oven didnât work, but the property manager said because the cleaning people put cleaner in it. I wouldnât stay here again.
Location & communication during booking. etc was good. If you're just looking for a decent place to sleep its fine. otherwise nothing really anything to see or do.
Some issues with floors not being clean. No broom or vacuum available in the unit. Refrigerator was big issue...frozen water in freezer; water on top shelf of refrigerator and bottom of refrigerator and froze eggs and vegetables; ice maker not working. I'm sure refrigerator needed to be thawed out to figure out its issue...or replaced. Kitchen items not available...only1 teaspoon and no baking pans.
This was a fantastic property for two couples looking for a long weekend getaway. The location was fantastic - easy drive to Marathon, walking distance to Hawks Cayâs public restaurant and marina, private access to the canal. The private pool was big enough for four adults to cool off from the Florida sun and humidity. A great stay!
Bathrooms are gross. !!
Mold ,mildew ,soap scum and the clean towel's are on and next to toilet plunger under the sink.
dishes - they are dirty -with food stuck on them and dried up - bowls, cups, and silverware. We had to wash every dish we used before we used them.
Both bathrooms need to be scrubbed floor to ceiling, including the vanities and both shower curtains.
The dishwasher top rack if you pull on it, it falls down - and the dishwasher is not bolted in place for safety purposes.
The washer doesn't work properly. We have to keep restarting it to do just one load.
The pool was dirty and the pump does not come on not even sure where the switch is. We could see the next-door neighbors pool - pump running to clean it. We were never able to use the pool because of the oily film on top of the pool water.
The second bedroom has a hole in the wall where the doorhandle hits. Closet is not functional with dresser inside the closet and no clothes hangers.
No additional blankets or pillows for the downstairs sleeper sofa. When we pulled out the sleeper sofa, there was stains all over the mattress.
Picture in front room is broken and someone placed it behind the sofa.
The kitchen vent below the 2 bathrooms had what I think is black mold coming out of the vent.
The house needs to be scrubbed floor to ceiling, washing the curtains and blinds and doors and walls.
We have stayed in a variety of VRBO. They have all provided beach towels, salt, and peppers, and other
The townhouse was very clean inside and outside, especially the pool. The boys had fun fishing right outside the canal that leads into the bay. There are some great mangrove snappers to catch and eat. Overall the place was small, but we made it work. The only negative thing I have to say is that I wish there was a squidgy to help remove some of the water in the patio area. Due to the kids splashing in the pool, the patio collected a lot of water.
The location of this property was ideal for everything we wanted to do (activities from Tavernier all the way down to Key West). Check in was seamless and, while there was never a need to contact the property manager, the communication from them was clear and timely. The pool, landscaping, and overall neighborhood were all lovely. Very resort-like.
That said, we did take note of several maintenance issues. The kitchen chairs were wobbly (and some of the hardware was later found in a fake plant), a cupboard door's hinges were broken, the dishwasher was not secured to the countertop, and the master bathroom toilet has a leak to name a few. A few other reviews have mentioned the lack of kitchen essentials and we found that to be true. To be clear, none of these negatively affected our vacation but should be noted.
Other have mentioned that the beds were uncomfortable but we had no difficulty falling asleep after our long days out in the sun. Relaxing in the pool became a near nightly ritual and whoever maintains the pool is doing a stellar job.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would book with this property again.
This place was a dump. They conveniently left out the part of the pool being a soaking tub. The unit was filthy. There were numerous paint chips on stairs, doors, cabinets, there is a cracked toilet, broken kitchen cabinet, the beds were worse than sleeping on the floor, no kpod, old worthless pots and pans, no ice trays, filthy dirty pool, other than that, everything else was good.
My wife and our friends wanted to come down and explore the Keys. So many other Vrbo options were so expensive but luckily we found this listing on Duck Key. It is basically in the middle of the Keys section off the highway and it provided such an easy way of exploring the various Keys without feeling like we were in the car the whole time. We loved unwinding in the personal pool on the patio after a nice day of exploring along with having some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets that we have ever experienced. If you are looking for a place to stay to explore the Keys, then stay here!
