We love FLW so the opportunity to actually spend the night in one of his homes was a life-long dream. This home did not disappoint. We read the original owner's narrative of his interactions with FLW and viewed the original blueprints. What a treat! The home itself was comfortable with beautiful views through the many windows. We will never forget this stay. Thanks to the homeowner for his hospitality.
It was such a special place and I will always remember my stay there! Truly such an experience being your typical stay. I hope i have the chance to return!
We enjoyed the experience of being in a Frank Lloyd Wright house overnight quietly reading about it. The story of Dr. Davis and the house and how it became a part of Marion was inspirational. And viewing the blueprints and looking for the fine details of the house was exciting We loved every minute there
Three college friends (from the early 70s) joined me for an overnight stay. We were totally enthralled with the house and the property. We enjoyed every minute of our amazing experience. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place.
Great experience to stay in a FLW designed home during our visit to the James Dean museums in Fairmount.
All was as advertised and Matthew was a great host and very helpful during our stay. A wonderful and unique home in a private setting may the stay very relaxing too.
Highly suggested if you are in the area and appreciate "special" architecture!
Stayed in a Frank Lloyd Wright house and got to checks it off of my bucket list. So cool to stay in such an historical and unique home. Wonderful Vrbo to rent in Marion IN.
My daughter and I spent 1 night during our Frank Lloyd Wright week in the mid-west. The house was in great shape. Sleeps 6, feeds more than 6. Has a industrial strength kitchen. It was very nice.
One of the most unique places Iâve ever stayed. Not only is this place historic but itâs a phenomenal experience. We had a fire in the fireplace nearly the whole time. Snow on the ground, frigid temps, but the house was warm thanks to radiant heated floors. Would love to return, Matthew was awesome.
Very interesting house. Actually got turned around a few times. Quite neighborhood, had a small fire outside sat back and enjoyed our surroundings. Looking forward to it again sometime.
We absolutely fell in love with this FLLW designed gem. Matthew (owner & host) was fantastic to deal with...always available & responsive. What a great neighborhood, site and building. Can't say enough good things!!!!
Listed as 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom. However, 5th bedroom is in separate building and was âunavailable due to weather damageâ and we were not told prior to stay. So one member of party had to sleep on couch. Host was not communicative. He did not tell us of lost bedroom, did not provide instructions for check-in/out information without prompting. No written instructions on how to work odd lighting. Odd lighting, due to cool architecture expected but lack of information made what could have been a neat feature a challenge. No hot water in one shower. NO privacy in any bathrooms! All bathrooms except half bath had windows open to outside and dining room (yes, you read correctly dining room!) with no curtains! Oven door did not close, fridge ran too warm (51-57 degrees) and would not turn down due to dirty compressor. Overall needs TLC and a good cleaning. Very cool architecture though. Would make a great day tour but not overnight stay!!
Perfect for the Frank Lloyd Wright enthusiast. Great history, blue prints and an airy wood burning fireplace are just some of the great features this house has to offer, while keeping in mind that it was built in 1953. Host was informative and responsive. We enjoyed our stay!
This home is not safe to stay in, there is mold in the master bedroom and master bathroom. I have contacted VRBO stating that the property needs to be taken down until this is addressed. I have close to 20 photos showing the mold. The master bath room also had several broken tiles. Some of our guests had to go to a hotel and not stay in the home. The home had dirty floors upon arrival and there was trash in restroom trash cans. VRBO has canceled my case. I have requested a 50% refund through VRBO. I will not stop until this property has been taken down from this site AND I have recieved atleast 50% of my money back.
Our group stayed the weekend in this architectural wonder. We are FLW enthusiasts and we are planning on staying in any FLW home that is available to rent. Matthew has graciously opened the home to the public and it was a pleasure to experience the home in its entirety. A little more rustic than we expected, but Matthew is a super responsive host and has made his home comfortable for your stay. One can't help but appreciate the history and architectural elements of this home.
