Our stay had some significant cleanliness and maintenance issues that are worth noting. Upon arrival, we found the bedding covered in dog hair, and one of the pillows had a noticeable body odor. After driving 10 hours, the condition was bad enough that we ended up doing laundry the next day and slept on top of the comforter just to be able to sleep comfortably. There were also multiple maintenance concerns. One of the beds was broken to the point that it was being held up by a board and a rock, which was both surprising and concerning. Additionally, the bunk beds had a cracked board on the top bunk, which did not feel safe.I reached out to the owner right away to make them awareânot to complain, but so they could address these issues with their cleaning crew and maintenance. Unfortunately, I did not receive a response. I also reached out again regarding the upcoming single-digit cold front to ask if there were any steps we needed to take to prepare the home, and again received no reply. I reached out for a third time to make them aware that the single trashcan was full after a week long stay but obviously due to bugs and wildlife I didnt want to leave it outside. I got a response to that message and was told to leave the bags out front and they would be by shortly to pick it up.Overall, the home did not feel as clean or well-maintained as it should have, and the lack of communication from the owner was disappointing.
