When we arrived, the property felt unprepared for guests. Trash barrels were scattered in the driveway, the back gate was barely hanging on its hinges and left open, and several unfinished-looking items were left around the yard, including a pressure washer, lumber, an open grill with the propane tank off to the side, and overgrown grass. The garage that was advertised as available was filled with junk. Overall, the exterior gave the impression that projects had been started and abandoned.Inside, the house was clean, but it still felt rushed between renters. There was no house manual explaining basics like thermostats, TVs, or the washing machine, and no starter toiletries. Fireplaces still contained ashes, a wooden log was left on the floor, an empty fire-starter box sat on the mantle, and small leftover items like a Lego were still around. Pantry shelves were cluttered with a mix of useful and discarded items clearly left behind by previous renters.The home itself needs maintenance and TLC. Doors stick badly, paint is worn, and the porch needs refinishing. All bedrooms and full bathrooms are upstairs, accessed by two steep staircases. One staircase had a loose handrail that pulled away from the wall, which felt unsafe.That said, the location and views are excellent, and we did enjoy our stay overall. However, given the price, the condition of the property and lack of attention to detail left us feeling more like an afterthought than welcomed guests.
