We could not have had a better stay. The hosts are so kind and helpful. The food was great. The rooms are cozy. The baths have lots of hot water and great shower pressure. We also had a lovely walk around the village after dinner.
We definitely recommend.
A friend and I had a great stay. The really friendly owners could not have been more helpful . The rooms were spotlessly clean and had tea and coffee making in the room which was great. Our dinner in the restaurant was delicious. And continental breakfast was very good value and good. This was exceptionally good value for the quality of stay.
I have no complaints. The building is old but fits with its surroundings. Internally its age is obvious but there are no signs of poor maintenance. My room was simply furnished but contained all facilities which were in full working order. Other than breakfast (which was excellent with a never-ending supply of tea and coffee), I did not use the regular restaurant because I was at the hotel for a family funeral with the wake held in the bar area and the breakfast room. During my stay the staff appeared attentive to everyone's needs, making me feel welcome and generally "at home".
The hotel is very clean, well run and the staff made you feel very welcome, the food was very nice and if you fancy a tipple the bar get a lot of locals as well as guests so generates a very good atmosphere. The rooms are a bit dated if that sort of thing bothers you, they were very clean and I would definately stay there again. Highly recommend.
Excellent place to see south Somerset and the Jurassic coast from set in an idyllic 13th century village where all the buildings are honey coloured from the local 170m old stone. Hosts are lovely and everyone is very welcoming. Good value.
Chose the White Hart for one overnight stay as we were attending a concert nearby. Very helpful and friendly landlord. Comfortable stay and very good value cooked breakfast.
Despite the fact that the staff are very chirpy and welcoming this establishment cannot be described on the whole as anything above average. On Monday's (my check-in day) there is no food available at all. So not much of a hotel in that respect. Bed rock hard, pillows wafer thin, toiletries very cheap, damp patches in the room and a window blind that was ineffective and filthy. The village is lovely so it was such a shame that the hotel did not meet expectations and I really can't agree with all the 10/10 exceptional reviews. Is it value for money? Yes. Can't complain at ÂŁ65 plus breakfast but It simply is not exceptional in my experience.
The owners of this hotel are the best part, so friendly and helpful. Room was really comfortable, a great shower. you do need to ring up if the advertised check in time isn't suitable, as they can probably accommodate you earlier.
