Aura apartments

We stayed for three days in Melbourne and its located within a short walking distance from Southern Cross Station. We had the male staff member welcome us and kindly allowed us to check in early. The apartment was better than expected. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, from kitchen essentials to laundry facilities. It was clean enough, with only a bit of dust and a few scuff marks here and there. The space showed some signs of wear, including a missing towel rail, but nothing that affected our comfort. The bedrooms have sliding doors for privacy, and the beds were very comfortable. One of the highlights was the balcony view of the river and city. The location is another big plus. The apartment is surrounded by a variety of cafes and restaurants, making it easy to grab a meal or coffee without having to go far. Overall, while the apartment is slightly worn in places, the pricing is reasonable for what you get — especially given the location, amenities, and thoughtful service. We would definitely stay here again for a short visit to Melbourne.

my apartment on the 24th floor had a great view to the east. the kitchen has been updated, new flooring but the bathroom is functional but well worn. very convenient location from the skybus terminal. i’ve stayed there before and will again. thanks. i love Melbs.

It was nice, but the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom balcony room was nothing like the pictures. Pros: location!! Cons: The balcony was tiny and unwelcoming. Plates were dirty. Lounge was very old and the “seat” in front is the window was dirty.

Dirty rooms - needs an upgrade - wrong star rating

This is one of the dirtiest accommodations I have ever stayed in. Upon arrival the parking was atrocious with very small confined spaces that was not advertised as a car lift for small cars. The foyer had grubby furniture. When arriving to our room, it had filthy floors. Walls that had clearly had holes in them that weren’t properly plastered back over, a broken lamp and damaged architraves. It was filthy. When I rang to reception on my mobile because the intercom didn’t work we were given another room, this room was slightly cleaner however we were required to wear socks the whole time due to the filthy carpet. I requested extra sheets and we threw them over the couch and armchair. The advertisement for a balcony on both rooms was a disgustingly 30 cm tiled ledge with a filthy air-conditioner and plastic old chairs as the outside furniture. When you looked over the edge of the balcony to the guttering and roof below all you could see was rubbish that had been thrown out of windows. I believe this should not be on HOTELS.com as an available property and the pictures by far do not represent the rooms, I would suggest false pictures. This is a falsely rated star accommodation. Very, very disappointed.

Easy check in with person at reception even after midnight. 1 bed apt - getting very sad and worn (not like pictures). Lots of dust balls rolling about and sofa looked questionable. I picked this place for location to riverside / CBD and it had a washer - I was happy with these things and stayed out most of the day.

Stayed here multiple times over years, for river views mostly. Was given a backside room this time for our 4 night stay and the reception staff was not accomodating to our request for a riverview room for part of our stay at least. Apartment was ok, no housekeeping apart from towel change & toiletries. Felt unsafe as there was some incident with police checking cctv footage at the reception area.

Main bedroom, bathroom and lounge room were comfortable. However secondary bed was just 2 singles pushed together and thus was quite uncomfortable. Cleaning practices were quite poor, especially considering this is 4 Star property. On the surface it looked great, but once you look a little closer you notice a few things just aren’t right. Clearly visible dirty hand prints on glass and light switches were quite dirty too. I’ll keep this as respectful as possible…cleaner should’ve gone to Specsavers!

Convenient location. Rooms clean and nicely presented. Bedrooms in apartment very small, tight squeeze to even walk around the bed. Beds not very comfortable and very low to ground. Having a small balcony was great. Air conditioning does not reach into bedrooms and only suitable for living area. Bedroom windows could not be opened.
