I booked this apartment as it is very close to my sons house. When collecting the keys at Fitzroy Street (I didnât like that you had to pick the keys up and check in at a different location) I was informed that the room was no longer available as it was being renovated (I booked the apartment in January). They had contacted me and left a message 5 days prior but I did not see them prior to checking in. Why did they not keep trying? Renovations do not suddenly happen so why was I not contacted weeks before? They offered us a different location in which we stayed 1 night in Blessington Street. It was supposed to be a 1 bedroom apartment but the bedroom had 2 bunk beds and the sitting room had another bed in it. Not suitable for our needs. We were able to get a refund for the remaining nights.
Staying in Melbourne for the week for work Limited choice due to Grand prix plus proximity to co-workers. Off site reception OK, they drive you to apartment then drop you with no help with bags, no lift. Apartment was a good two blocks from Balaclava shops and tram. Quiet except for tolerable rumble of train adjacent. Inside was stuffy and no security on windows (door also had no extra latch) made it hard to air. Aircon on wall in kitchen - stretch to reach. Kitchen OK with full stove, fridge and microwave. No coffee maker. Bed OK, but the furnishings are tired and drab. Bathroom OK with basic pump dispenser toiletries, two towels and mat. Hairdryer in cupboard.
Charges are annoying. $75 if you don't washup and $25 extra if you request a change of linen.
Pots are cheap and need replacing
The sofa bed was a complete piece of junk, my five your old was not able to sleep on it. The kitchen need a deep clean s there was oil residue for cooking on the cabinet doors. The bed Head was ripped. So all in all ok but not great.
