This is our second time staying at this property. We love its proximity to Merrill. The large size also works well for our extended families. Lots of bedrooms with lots of sleeping arrangement options. We enjoyed a relaxing fire with s'mores on the banks of the river. A beautiful way to end our day.
Everything from prior communication and check in was perfect. The owners thought of everything for the home that a guest may want. I am told that everyone's beds very comfortable. The spaces in the home are excellent. The actual kitchen work space is small but manageable. There is a gate to the basement if you bring small kids. We had plenty of towels and supplies which was greatly appreciated. The backyard to the river and fire pit is long and you either have to take stairs or the side of the house it is a little difficult if you have a disability. (I was 2 weeks out from a pelvic fracture.) My family enjoyed kayaking and other outdoor activities. The deck is nice in the morning and you will also have gorgeous sunsets in the evening by the river.
Worked great for us with bedrooms on three levels with three different living/family rooms. Kayaks and canoe were fun for a quick spin on the river. Paddle upstream first so the current carries you back.
Everyone enjoyed the lodging. Lots of room to spread out and enjoy different activities. Very easy host to work with. We think it would be a nice vacation in Summer, so that might be our next get together to replace the winter vacation.
Our family of 11 celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas over the Thankgiving holiday. This property was perfect for us. It had plenty of room to spread out and slept eveyone comfortably. The interior was clean, well furnished, and had sufficient amenities to make our stay comfortable. While this is an older proprty, it was evident the owner is doing some updating. The host was very accommodating and even had a Christmas tree set up specifically for our stay!
This is a very beautiful place to stay. There was plenty of room and activities for everyone. Everything was in clean working order. Check in was simple and easy. The upstairs beds were not the most comfortable for an adult. But highly recommended staying.
The riverfront was beautiful. The yard is large and prefect for yard games, relaxing or just enjoying the weather. The firepit is large and off to the side...enough to be out of the way of children, but close enough for supervision and fun. It's the perfect set up.
The house has plenty of beds and different living spaces to allow for both gathering together and small groups. The owner was extremely responsive and friendly. Our family has already talked of returning.
Great place to all the sisters (6) stay for the weekend. Multiple living rooms were appreciated as was the large table for meals and games. Not an easy access to river, would be hard to use canoes, etc.
Our family enjoyed our time. Kids were able to fish and play in the river. Kayaks and canoe were great. We had a bonfire one night and enjoyed seeing the bald eagle soaring over the river. The house was adequate for our needs. Could use updating in a few areas, and the kitchen was kind of small, but overall, we were satisfied.
We truly enjoyed our stay at the River Chalet. Since everything in the listing was accurate, there were no unpleasant surprises. We slept well, we cooked with ease, we fished, played in and on the river, appreciated the "furnished" campfire site and loved the new deck. 5 stars.
Cozy, relaxing, comfortable, beautiful property and views.
The home is about twenty minutes from the ATV trails. Our multi-family group of 9 had plenty of space in this large home. The home was clean and stocked with everything needed to feel at home. The kids played the games in the basement, read books, played cards, and watched a little TV.
The yard was gorgeous and green with nature everywhere. We had several bonfires and made Sâmores in the outside ring. We saw rabbits, deer, and many different birds. Loved the fresh smell of pine trees and the river. My son did fish from shore and my daughter loved trying to catch the crayfish. We loved this rental. The rental was listed perfectly and just what we needed.
Very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Although there are neighbors due to everything being so lush and green I never knew they were there. Feels very secluded. The Wisconsin River was mesmerizing and beautiful to look at. I truly enjoyed kayaking for some adventure and exercise while there. I loved using the fire pit for a bonfire for a cozy night in. Layne, the owner was easy to get ahold of for questions about the Vrbo. Everything at the Vrbo home was clean and in good working order. I would stay there again.
