Spotless, spacious room and helpful staff made this a great place for my 4-day stay as a solo first-timer in CDMX. Plus the location can't be beat. Close to everything important for tourists. I would stay again and will recommend it to couples, families and singles.

The hotel staff was friendly. The room was clean and tidy, but had limited amenities. The area surrounding the hotel was noisy and dirty with a lot of people, so we didn’t feel the safest going out after dark. However, if you’re looking for a stay in the historic city center, you’re within walking distance of many top attractions, which might be perfect for your travels. Overall, we would recommend this hotel.

Everything was good exept the musky smell in the room mostly at night. don't know if it was the previous clients or the ghost of the original owner Mr. Gillow. The pillows need to be replaces. But very good location!! Would stay again!!

El cuarto en muy Chico y le falta mucho mantedimiento, el bano super sucio. Les pedi la recepcion, que me cambiaran de cuarto, les dije los motivos, y me cobraron dinero extra, para cabiarme. El segundo cuarto al cual me movieron estaba un poco mas grande, pero el bano muy sucio, el lavavo quebrado, la tina de la banera segun era blanca pero en realidad estaba negra de sucia y con mojo. No me vuelvo a ospedar en ese hotel, y no lo recomiendo. Lo que pague no los vale.

Customer service was 1000%. Nancy was helpful to arrange my tours online communication and were ready for when I arrived. Our reservation included breakfast and the food was delicious. Hotel is a walking distance from Templo Mayor and Zocalo. Thank you Staff Gillow for a memorable and safe stay!!

Great location at a reasonable price

For many years, I brought student groups to this hotel. I had not been here for 17 years. Several upgrades have been made, including Internet in the rooms (though it is a bit slow) and air conditioning. There are also in-room safes now.This staff continues to be friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant downstairs, which makes me to order breakfasts. The location can’t be beat!

Improved

I had stayed here with groups of students many times in the past, but I had not been here recently. The hotel has made several improvements in the time that I have been gone. They now have air conditioning units in the rooms and there is Wi-Fi (though it can be a bit slow). The employees continue to be, as in the past, very friendly and helpful. The mattresses have also been improved and are extremely comfortable.
