I’m not sure if they were understaffed or what, but this was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a 5-star hotel. In-room dining was mid at best. Service was awful, which is the most important thing. For both check-in and check out they had 2 people attending to 1 party at a time. Took maybe 25 minutes to check in versus ~5 min at other Miami hotels. Don’t know if they were training or what, but maybe don’t do that on New Years weekend. Room wasn’t fully ready despite getting to my room at 5:30pm. The kicker for me, I left my AirPods at the pool, checked out, moved to next hotel. Called them and tried to explain where they were. The guy was pretty rude from the jump He said “I’ll see if anyone turned them in” I told him that wouldn’t have been the case, since I could see on Find My, they hadn’t moved from where I was seated all day. After an hour and a half of no call back, I hop in an uber to go over and find them myself and on the way there I see them floating away in I-95. Won’t be staying at this property again. I recommend 1 Hotels right next (higher price point but infinitely better service).

Piggish fees for everything. Absolutely ridiculous that the W hotel charges a”resort usage fee” of $85 per day for sitting at their pool or at their beach chairs. Yuck! They asked for $20 for a tiny bag of nuts in the room and $9 for a small bottle of water. Ugly! Their carpets were old and ratty and the food was pedestrian. Boo! Anything but luxury & class….
