We love love love this house!! We have stayed twice now and look forward to staying again!! Our family of 7 and 2 dogs fit perfectly with no hassle!! The property is beautiful from the amazing farm views during the day to the hundreds of lighting bugs at night! You can hear nothing but the beautiful sounds of mother nature! The daytime hours are alive in the town and silent and peaceful at night!! If you have kids that enjoy running and playing outside there is enough space to explore and have fun!! We did bring a television with us for family movie nights as the house does not have one. It's the perfect space to unwind and relax!!! We also enjoyed the fourth of July firewoks in Lewisburg!!
This farm house had everything we needed. Privacy galore! Enjoyed family time sitting around a campfire listening to the frogs sing from a nearby pond.House was clean and beds were very comfortable. The host immediately responded to any questions we had. We were able to take our dog who had lots of space to investigate. A most enjoyable couple of days at âGrandmas Houseâ.
Very clean, spacious. Convenient location as we had business in downtown Mifflinburg. Plenty of room for parking; plenty of room inside. Host provided many "little things" that we didn't expect. Looking forward to next year.
It was so nice to get away from town and electronics for a weekend. The house is very spacious, with plenty of room for 3 couples to not be right on top of one another. The picturesque areas around the house were amazing as well. We are already talking about booking it again.
We had a great stay! The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The host was very easy to work with and very flexible with check-in and check-out times. We loved exploring the property, and the location was very convenient to both Bucknell (20 min drive) and Penn State (1 hour drive). The only thing that kept us below 5-stars was the water temp in the showers. It was very difficult to control (from cold to scalding hot even with tiny adjustments) and could be a problem with younger kids. But overall an excellent stay!
This house is spacious, comfortable and accommodating for family gatherings. (Though we did not need the accommodations for children, it would be very suitable for those with little ones.) The beds were comfortable and the linens were new, clean and abundant. The only negative aspect was the display of fly strips in a few of the rooms. The scenery was beautiful and the property was suitably maintained. I would recommend an upgrade to the decking structure, it was very worn and the railing was loose. We enjoyed visiting a few local shops for pizza and ice cream as well as Penn's Cave (which we toured while we were there). Overall, I would recommend this location to others. We enjoyed our stay.
This was a great choice to spend the weekend with our daughter who attends Susquehanna University. After not seeing each other for a month, this was the perfect spot to relax, catch-up and share lots of laughs. The floorplan was perfect and everything was exactly as advertised.
This VRBO is very clean and delightfully quirky. The only negative comment was that our guests stated their beds were pretty hard. We only stayed 2 nights and really only slept and showered there. However, I will probably not use VRBO again because I am very dissatisfied with the extra fees that are automatically added on (Cleaning, damage protection, Service fee). They doubled the rental! I would refuse Damage Protection for sure. Our credit card covers that. And our use of the home did not warrant amount charged for cleaning.
All of the above boxes were checked 5 star for good reason. This is by no means a fancy resort, but a wonderful slice of farm (even though abandoned) life in Union County.
We rented the home for several family members that were attending a college graduation. Property was clean, quiet, and we enjoyed lots of room. The enclosed sun room was our favorite every morning to enjoy coffee and chats with anyone that was up early. Kitchen was large and lots of room to cook and move around, along with places to eat too. Barns and property to walk around was fun to explore - careful of ticks and we saw a rabbit and hedgehog too. Highly recommend this place if you need the space as itâs a lovely farmhouse!
It was great very roomy! Everyone had a great time! The children didn't want to leave wanted it to last forever,, đ So open everyone could b together.
This house was very spacious. It worked very nice for our family weekend. It was well stocked with supplies. Decorated very nicely. Outdoor area was a plus. Recommend this house for your stay.
We arrived to freshly baked sticky buns and a handwritten note from the owner. The property was immaculately clean and had everything we needed to cook, etc.
The house has an excellent back yard and some areas beyond the fence for the kids to explore. Two barns flank the back yard. Porch swings in front and back along with a furnished sun room.
The house is located right along a road full of farms and it was so quiet and beautiful.
Quick drive to RB Winter state park for swimming in the lake and hiking. 15 minutes from the Rusty Rail brewery for food and beer. We drove 45 minutes to Penns cave to check out a boat cave tour in a 4000 year old cave. There's a small general store right up the street for sundries and sandwiches, larger grocery stores about 20 minutes away. Downtown Mifflenburg has some good ice cream spots and walking around nearby Lewisburg was nice.
AC in the house worked great, so did WiFi. There is a gas grill out back. The house came stocked with some puzzles games and toys. Also had a changing table for the baby which was thoughtful.
We had a wonderful time at the house and in the surrounding area, definitely recommend!
